Haven't played a game yet and already the best? lol

But I know what you're saying.

They've all made stops elsewhere before ND and proven themselves. Hopefully the chemistry works here at ND.

Balis is a game changer off the field. The upgrade here alone is immeasurable.

Elko over BVG isn't really a debate.

Denson..... I'd take Alford. Recruiting included.

Long..... I'd take Sanford because of potential. But I also don't know a ton about Chip Long so we will see.

Lea..... Elko's right hand man.

I would take Long over Sanford. I think in the next 2-3 years Long becomes a hot name in coaching community.

You wouldn't say the same for Sanford? He's even a leg up on Long with being named head coach at WKU

I would take Denson over Alford as a position coach.

Fair enough.

For me it was close as far as on the field coaching. Alford did a great job with guys like Riddick and Gray. Recruiting is what sets it apart for me. Alford hands down.

You don't have to sell me on him. Before things got real serious, I'm pretty sure I was the first one to mention Elko as my preference for DC before his name was even being rumored.

Ivins with a CB to ND.

That's one that I'd take seriously.

Alford is a great recruiter, definitely better than Denson, but I have been impressed with Denson's recruiting nonetheless.

And thus far, I don't think it's that close in terms of the actual coaching. I think Denson is a definite upgrade in that department.

Demetric Warren piling on with a CB for ND. His CB's don't mean so much usually but with his connection to the UA All America Bowl, maybe he's up on our boy Lacey(?)

Didn't make Scout's Top 125 which puts him no better than #8 and if you use their order of listing as a ranking he comes in as the #12 DT, #11 if you kick out Hunter Spears as he's an SDE.

Still a 4 star.

Still a big piece of the '19 class until he commits to the Buckeyes/Clemson?

We'll see. ND has followed up the solid work at DT in '18 with great early work in '19. Gotta love where they stand right now with:

Lacey
Rodas Johnson
Mazi Smith
Jowon Briggs
&
George Karlaftis if he slides inside with age.

He gone.

He's very open about being headed to Miami as soon as he gets the offer.

Yea, more than anything we've put ourselves in good position with quite a few players, now we'll just need to close them. Also at DE.

To the bolded, we probably lead, or close to, for them as well. So, though I'd love to get Lacey and Briggs as 1a and 1b. If we ended up with Johnson and Smith, I can't say I'd be too upset. Still a good group.

I think it's always been the case, and I don't think anything has changed

I believe it has. There is a different tone in his interviews, especially some pieces I saw from local Indiana press. Wearing ND warm ups to the track regional and state meets just an added hint for me.

I'm further encouraged that there wasn't anything recent that you were referencing.

Post II Wiltfong posted that he could see him at Miami. Plus Karlaftis seems like he's set on taking a lot of visits.
