I am stunned. How is he better than Nana? No way Nana isn't a top 10 WDE. He is better than Roman Harrison.

I don’t think there are many players in this class ( Nationwide) that could have done what Kiser did at Pioneer this year.

No surprise here of course.
Apparently he may be Dru 2.0 as they have him at Rover for spring

This is great news. Dru was one of the best at sniffing out screen plays and was almost always assignment sound. If we get that much out of Jack, then he was an absolute steal. Although the threshold for "steal" is definitely much lower.

Really pleased that we picked him up.

his rank history is lol. no way you can explain that jump unless you admit you never watched his film or paid attention to him in the first place until this last grade.

Thus why I don't get too worked up about rankings. The shear volume of kids wanting to play ball in college makes it impossible for any of these services to do good job of evaluating (if they even get evaluated) from top to bottom. Kiser's previous ranking (649 - 698) was pretty much arbitrary IMO. Once early signing period is over the get around to reevaluating and adjusting thuis his jump. Reevaluating for final rankings is just another way to generate more clicks and money. Kiser is going to be the same player whether he's ranked 1 or 1,000.

they guys that take part in all the camps have a huge advantage. those that don't, have to hope someone takes the time. the guys in big time football states also have an advantage simply because more talent is there to look at and the chances others get noticed is higher. i am a little surprised however he wasn't looked at closer just based on his numbers over the years. but it is a small school in a state not known for top talent. had it been basketball, it would be different lol.

Good to see the bump for Kiser...Seems like most of the bumps in the final rankings were in the wrong direction.

How great it will be to win a natty with nothing but three star kids.

Again, he's the most athletic LB not named Jaylon ND's had in forever.

He just finished up an undefeated, 3 year impersonation of Vince Young while simultaneously serving as his teams only LB and S on 95% of the snaps.

Statistically, he's probably the most accomplished HS football player since... who knows?

Why shouldn't he be in the Top 200 players in his class?

Did he get any sort of ranking from ESPN and if so how would they have even worked out a ranking?
Do they have someone who goes to games in Indiana? would someone at ESPN have bothered to look at his film? did he go to one of their camps?

ESPN is a joke for ranking. If you don't go to UA based camps and games, good luck getting ranked.

thats what I am thinking. They should do more NR's because at least that is an admission that they have no idea a guy even exists.

Beau...my man...

ESPN has Notre Dame at #10 class, which is higher than the other two sites my friend.

I mean, that's great. lol

But their actual ranking team is minimal. They do not pour many resources into it.

I did find this article which explains the rationale why Kiser would potentially accept the Lilly Scholarship. Regardless if he accepts it or not, it looks like he will be on at least a partial football scholarship which means he will be a counter. He has until March 1st to decide on the Lilly Scholarship.

https://www.rushvillerepublican.com/sports/mister-football/article_7f831d31-4270-5a23-a932-7ebd50248913.html

On top of his athletic exploits, Kiser is also set to be Pioneer's valedictorian and was also recently named the 2019 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar from Cass County.

He said he is unsure if he will utilize his Lilly Scholarship or Notre Dame athletic scholarship.

"I have until March 1st to decide on the Lilly Scholarship," he said. "So if I take the Lilly Scholarship, Notre Dame will just pay everything left over. But then again, if I just go with the Notre Dame scholarship, the Lilly Scholarship will go to the runner-up. The only reason I would keep the Lilly Scholarship is in case I got hurt or decided to step out of football ... to have that plan B, because you never want to do something without having a backup plan. So we'll see how it goes."
