10 mins in and they are discussing players purposely trying to catch covid during the wake forest cancellation/bye weeks to avoid missing games

Prob some stuff they shouldn’t have said but I think it was decent for likely their first time behind a microphone like that.

Excellent article by Sampson in The Athletic. Breaks down five plays featuring Hamilton. Hamilton discusses what he's seeing and why he reacted to the play the way he did.

Small excerpt
What I’ve gotten better at throughout the years in man coverage is not backing up, not giving him space. This is fourth-and-2, so I know he’s coming at me, just make a good break and break the ball up. Yeah (I think they’re coming at me on this play) and the ball is close to that route. You want to get the ball out quickly in empty because you don’t have a running back to protect. You know it’s going to be some quick game concepts because it’s empty.

Could have been in Hart’s thread but it’s been great to see Kyle’s leadership and personality

When I saw him back on sideline with a compression brace it made me think it was hyper extension and keep him out precautionary

Bummer he's out but great news for his career that it's just soft tissue. I was having Jaylon Smith flashbacks.

I'm not convinced we'll see him the rest of the year if we lose saturday or any of the weeks he misses.

could shut it down and be ready for the draft.

if the kid has an agent who is savvy he should be doing exactly this. He can still walk out on senior day etc

Yeah, and Kelly was pretty vague in the pressser today, alluded to "input from all directions" or something to that effect.

As he should be. I imagine today or tomorrow is when all evaluations will be completed and a better diagnosis will be made.

Given the competitor he is, I can also see him wanting to finish the season once he's cleared.

idc if I sound like a boomer or what but a captain shouldn't stop playing mid season if he's fully healthy, regardless of the circumstances. Shitty bowl game, maybe.

Jaylon Smith.

These players' futures are more important than our fandom. They put their bodies on the line for 3-4 years and did everything they could to give their team a shot to win a national championship. When the team comes up short of that goal, I don't have a problem with a young man who is about to become very wealthy saying "I love this team, but I have a once in a lifetime opportunity ahead of me. I'll be there there to support you guys."

I get it. I really do. I know I would love to dress one more time myself. And you're right, a captain should lead by example. He committed to play football here, after all.

However, we are talking about a first round talent who has the possibility to make millions upon millions of dollars. There is a massive difference in money just between the first and second rounds for that first contract. And, if he gets hurt worse, it could bring an end to his career. It absolutely sucks, as a fan, these days seeing players sit out, but it's something I get. It's the way it is today.

I’ve evolved on this topic as well. It still pains me to think of the player Jaylon would have been had he just sat out that OSU game. I’d love to have Hamilton out on the field, but I completely understand if he puts his potential 15 year HOF career over 6 games with his boys. He will still be a captain for us from the sideline if that’s the route he goes.
