Clark Lea followed him this morning so just like I hoped, they appear to be going after him on the defensive side of the ball.

Just unofficialled a few days ago.

Unless Clark Lea has persuaded him otherwise, Isaiah is on record preferring TE over playing defense in college.

Yep and he probably still does. Foskey doesn't let his thoughts out often as the 1 Cloudy CB points to.

It's news worthy that ND seems to be taking a different angle with him. If you look at his film, he looks better on D but as I said in another thread, looking good in the DLS passing game is as easy as climbing Everest in flip flops.

This suggests/confirms ND is recruiting him as an ATH.

Target OV for the Stanford game though not confirmed yet as far as I can see.

Honestly I'd still take him at TE. Tremble and Tackacs have injury history

Not saying I wouldn't. Just pointing out that if they stick strictly with recruiting him at DE, we will not even get much of a sniff. It's like the average Joe trying to get the hot girl to go out with him. He throws the kitchen sink at her hoping she says yes and hopes once she goes out with him, he's able to convince her, that he's as much fun and as interesting as the local jocks.

Pretty good analogy. Also you are probably right. Thought somewhere in the thread someone quoted him saying he wanted to play TE in college.

Positions that schools see him at in his Top 5

Cal - DE
Washington - DE
Notre Dame - DE
Ohio State - TE
Michigan - TE

Also listed UCLA and LSU as potentially being included in a Top 7 but I think right now it’s Washington, Notre Dame, and Cal which is a winnable battle for Notre Dame. Hope he has a great weekend at ND.

he is embracing the defensive end role more and more...
earlier in the recruiting cycle he seemed more set on tight end..
this is a good development for notre dame's initial eval of him as a DE

with tonite's results and campus/game atmosphere
coupled with the performance of our dl...
nd prospects have vastly improved.....he has an
uncommitted lb at his h.s. who is not too shabby either

he can commute with mr book and mr rutherford

Not a fit per ISD.

I'm not exactly sure what that means, maybe someone else can explain.

WTF. Why do we always get these cryptic messages about recruits?

I know they can't smear a kid's character but I really want this guy in our class. Usually this means one of two things:

Academically incompatible
Behaviorally incompatible

Where was this said?

"On Isaiah Foskey, the visit went very well. Heard his Mom and Dad really like ND. Heard he likes ND as well, but I think a few T's and I's need to be crossed and dotted. I think we will see what happens here. I'm not sure where this will go, but I do believe ND is in the race if all things get worked out. Michigan and some west coast schools are the competition."

I think Crusader had Foskey mixed up with another DE prospect ISD gave an update on. I also had them mixed up.

I used another poster's words (who was not corrected by the staff). But it's easy to see why he used those words... The above quote you provided = Foskey is not a fit at this time because he needs to cross T's and dot I's. As VDP eluded to, they aren't gonna divulge what the T's and I's are in public. I thought some of the more tied in, long time ISD guys might have gotten a better explanation than what I was able to put together from the limited info I saw.

Weird that they are finding out he’s not a great fit now when he was at ND in July and is back for an OV in September. Hopefully it is fixable and ND can keep pursuing. If not, I think ND lands Bralen Trice in a few days so ND is good on DE’s.

Wants to be TE, not DE?
