I'm sure Gordon was really feeling UDub following his visit, just like he was feeling ND after being in South Bend again. Hopefully he takes a few more days to make a final decision and does what's right for him, which we all think is ND.

The face to face restriction is to end the last minute visits, get recruits off campus and keep coaches off couches in the home while the signing period starts and to give all a break during the holidays plus... so the teams prepping for bowls aren't at a disadvantage while they are at practice and the 5-7 teams are in home snagging recruits right before NSD2.

All I'm going to say about California recruiting is this... in the last five years, ND has had 24 players drafted. The only one from California was Troy Niklas. The fail rate for California recruits that verbal to ND is damn near 90%.

Recruiting the Pacific NW there isn't enough data. KeiVarae Russell worked out pretty well. Can't really think of a high quantity of recent players off the top of my head to say we should recruit it more or less or the same amount. In general, the concentration of talent up there is so sparse that I think you have to treat each prospect individually and determine if it's worth time investment.
