he was pretty ropey at the AA game. i would have expected this drop.

Did the #1 overall player get dropped for starting the game 1-3 with 2 Int's?

Whatever, still the best player in the country for Notre Dame.

Now if they would just offer some PWO's to his receiving crew. Phil needs an entourage that he's comfortable with as he speed reads the playbook.

I think this drop is fair. He's been bad at every camp, even back to last year hasn't he? And Trevor Lawrence started out bad, but then played really well at the end and you can see the talent he has.

Phil didn't get as much playing time so that wasn't fair, but what he did wasn't good.

Lawrence practiced well though, by reports i saw.

I was listening to recruting analyst on espn u the other day. They were mocking the idea that a player would be dropped because of one camp/game. Actually, Seems like the norm to me. I'd still take Phil over any other qb in this class.

Phil ran what? 6 plays in the game? And during practice he was allowed to get rocked by Parsons, but somehow it's all on him? Played top level talent all season long and dominated. Bull shit.

I really don't care where Phil is other than it helps the brand. The services be like a broken record on which team has the best class... with their faulty process of grading a class. I'm a bit old school in that I grade a player on performance and fit where they're going and don't give 2 sh!ts about prognosticating a possible NFL future. Phil should have finished #2 in the National High School POTY award behind JT Daniels. Period, end of story.

Speaking of these R&R's...

ND is not getting enough credit for THIS class. I've been hard on ND in past cycles, pretty much all of them for their poor prospecting and poor management of offers but the nailed this class in areas of need. QB, DT, LB, S, TE, WR (if LK3 commits) I mean almost perfect in those spots.

I think this is a the type of class that won Clemson a NC.

If they wouldn't have gotten greedy on the CB's and taken Greg Newsome first and went after Boykin, Palmer, Brown and a handful of others during camp season, they would have been full.

No you stop lol...

As a prospect, he's Ron Powlus with better measurables and production. If you went in the lab to build a prospect, you'd fail.

so let me get this straight, without even digging real deep here, you would take Phil (who I do like btw) over Justin Fields and Trevor "Sunshine" Lawrence?

Not even close with Lawrence for ND's offense. JT Daniels would be #2 and then I'd have to really sit and evaluate Fields vs Yankoff and Justin Rogers.

It's the intangible stuff that widens the gap over Fields for me: Catholicism, WPA culture, WPA players on roster, he's a champion, his personality, size - PJ's a real 6-5 / JF is a short 6-3.

Phil just rolled out of central casting with a script written for him.

Players always step up their game when they have a chop on their shoulders.

Report from 247 on CBS Sports says this might be the best QB class ever, whatever that is worth. Phil's wasn't mentioned in the article. Fuck 'em, we shall see...

"ND offense" It's been a different offense for 8 years under BK. Sometimes I'm not sure what he wants to run. He hasn't really developed the position for a shit in his 8 years of being here. Don't act like Trevor Lawrence wouldn't solidify the position for maybe three years. Almost every guy who does this for a living is saying he's the best QB prospect in the last decade. Plus Lawerence does have some wheels plus with that "lab talk" the arm you can only build in a lab

I have no idea what the WPA has to do with anything? Like Georgia does produce top 5 HS talent and high school QB's? No one in this world is evaluating Fields or Yankoof or Justin Rodgers? Listen man I'll take Jurkovec in the long haul but he's not on Lawrence level and if you wanna debate Fields go ahead but Lawrence and Fields are only gonna get better. Plus the ridiculous talent you are putting around them has to come into debate.

Love me some Phil Jurkovec he might leave here a first round pick but with the way BK has developes QB's over last year 8 years also worries me some. But I'm not taking him over Trevor Lawrence he might not be as fast as Lawrence but that's only thing he has on him and Fields you can debate. Don't bring in this Justin Rodgers and Yankoof stuff, don't be disrespectful to the consensus #2 player in the class and someone every school wanted.

He doesn't have wheels but he's more then capable of moving. Clemson is a running offense with the QB and Clemson thinks he can play. So why did Clemson take him? Lawrence is that good you adapt your offense to fit him.

Plus Clemson, Georgia skill players> ND skill players

I have no clue why some of you even follow ND football. All some of you ever do is put the players and team down...none of them are any good. Find another fuckin team to follow already.

Who in this thread has said ND players aren't good? Who is putting the players or the team down?

Guilty conscience??

I said “some of you” I didn’t say “GBdomer”...obviously you know you slam the recruits or you wouldn’t have responded.

Well we were the ones talking so I figured you meant it about me. I will say "this offer is questionable" or "I don't think this guy is good" but I'm no different from anyone else. That's what I appreciate about this board compared to most places, some people speak their minds and it isn't always sunshine and Rainbows. The mods here allow that as long as you don't cross that line and that's what makes this board great. If everyone agreed with each other this place wouldn't be the best ND site there is.

i love the standard BS response. No one is asking for that. But it doesn’t have to be predominantly doom and gloom. You have a great habit of posting a positive comment followed by multitasking or negatives.

This is coming from the guy saying we are putting ND players down and none of them are any good? No one even came close to uttering those words. No one is dooming and glooming anything when you are comparing players. So you just made shit up to stir a pot and I bit so I guess that's on me
