'18 PA QB Phil Jurkovec (Wherever I May Roam Chud)

"ND offense" It's been a different offense for 8 years under BK. Sometimes I'm not sure what he wants to run. He hasn't really developed the position for a shit in his 8 years of being here. Don't act like Trevor Lawrence wouldn't solidify the position for maybe three years. Almost every guy who does this for a living is saying he's the best QB prospect in the last decade. Plus Lawerence does have some wheels plus with that "lab talk" the arm you can only build in a lab

I have no idea what the WPA has to do with anything? Like Georgia does produce top 5 HS talent and high school QB's? No one in this world is evaluating Fields or Yankoof or Justin Rodgers? Listen man I'll take Jurkovec in the long haul but he's not on Lawrence level and if you wanna debate Fields go ahead but Lawrence and Fields are only gonna get better. Plus the ridiculous talent you are putting around them has to come into debate.

Love me some Phil Jurkovec he might leave here a first round pick but with the way BK has developes QB's over last year 8 years also worries me some. But I'm not taking him over Trevor Lawrence he might not be as fast as Lawrence but that's only thing he has on him and Fields you can debate. Don't bring in this Justin Rodgers and Yankoof stuff, don't be disrespectful to the consensus #2 player in the class and someone every school wanted.

Jurkovec has A LOT of qualities and his film is better than Lawrence's. It's been established that Jurkovec isn't a camp QB, which really who gives a sh*t? Film trumps camp. Always. Camp does little to no good outside of gauging measurables in a non-live environment, which means next to **** all when you get out there against defensive players who want to take your head off.

You can think Lawrence is better, but don't come in here and tell us that they're not in the same league or not comparable. They are. Quite so.

You do realize people who get PAID for a living to do this kind of stuff have established Lawrence as a better QB. Some like 247 think there is a 120 player gap between Phil and Lawrence. Phil really took a step forward in his game this year but Lawrence has been consistently doing it for three years. Establish my credit as what? A Notre Dame fan? I never claimed to be anything. Lawrence has won 3 state titles and GA all time leading passer. When did I say Phil wasn't in Lawrence league? Arm talent wise yes, I did because he's not. Have you watched Trevor Lawrence play?

I am literally talking about QB's overall. Nothing to do with who fits here and who's an RKG here. And 1-5 this and that. I am talking about overall QB's. I already explained the offense we run yearly switches every year so can throw that out. If you are talking about off the field and handling the spotlight at ND? Ok fine, I have no idea but it's not like the kid is a dummy Vandy, Duke, Michigan, Cal etc. all thought he could play. Those are some pretty good academic schools.

If Trevor Lawrence walked into this program right now he would push Wimbush and maybe over take him for the starting job, maybe he wouldn't. But ND program would be more then fine with him at QB. I am really hoping Phil is a the guy and I know he has all the tools to do so plus he's one of ours so I will take him all day. Do you know Trevor Lawrence wouldn't succeed here? Nope, you don't. Do I know if he would? Nope, I don't, but don't act like from a talent standpoint it's very, very possible he would. With this 1-5 whatever

Where did GB or myself put down Phil or say we didn't like him? In one of my original posts, I said I liked Phil a lot. No one has put down Phil, what so ever. Glad he is coming to ND. Hopefully he tears it up.

GB said, in a roundabout way, "fit might not be super important considering BK's offense has changed nearly every year over the last 8 years," which I think is a valid point, and a nice segue into his next comments, which were "here's how I would rank the QB's, regardless of fit, and Lawrence is on top, because he could probably walk into ND and play right away, since the offense is constantly changing anyway."

Then Lucky and NDSean44 stepped in halfway through those thoughts and took it as GB ignoring the "fit" aspect and putting Phil down, when GB really wasn't putting Phil down at all, but rather talking about how Lawrence is established, and it's foolish to try and argue that Phil is better on a ranking-to-ranking basis.

The only thing that makes you go hmmm on PJ is that he only got the 6 plays at the Army AA game.

Whether it was politics, struggles in practice, throwing motion...or whatever, the fact remains the coaches wouldn't play him.

But personally I put more faith in game success than practice success....and PJ showed that he is a balls out competitor on the field at the highest level of High SChool...so I for one am glad he is Irish.

Love the optimism for PJ but maybe some need to pump the brakes a little. Poor guy hasn't even taken a snap in college and he is the 2020 Heisman winner and two time Offensive MVP in the CFB playoffs. Geez.

For the record... I hope every QB in this class of recruits are highly successful for their respective teams. Who is the best? That's what the field is for.
