I agree and did. I unsubscribed to this thread. But I still thought ND should be working hard on this kid because of need and the #'s situation he's in at the schools ahead for him.

As much as I think Oweh wants to be at OSU and or PSU, we still have to remember it's an ego driven recruitment. If those situations ever got to a point (in his head) that he's the 3rd DE option in his own class and he gets the picture he's a project to them while the others (like Cox, Parsons, Smith, etc) are expected to be on the field first, he could have a light go off that said, being the star DE of ND's class next to one of the top DT's in the country is a much better situation and more prestigious than the other situations. Sorta like if Griffith and Gervin surprised us by circling back and committing after thinking the grass was greener elsewhere.

If Wiltfong is right and Parsons is not taking one of those spots, there's .001%.

So he's dead to me until he announces his OV to SC.

You just get a kick out of pouring salt into a wound right before it starts to heal. lol

Nice to know Disco remembers how to recruit.

Diaco has moved past 4am coffee and is serving a full breakfast too.

Apparently hanging out with Coach Green is infectious.

So if you believe Wiltfong, Oweh is going to Ohio St.

He CB'd Tyreke Smith to PSU yesterday which follows Micah Parsons' CB to Nebraska.

Sounds good to me. Back to unsubscribe.

“Still trying to set up visits to Notre Dame, Miami or Florida with the final two visits,” Blair coach Jim Saylor said.

That Oweh is yet to set up those visits speaks about his mindset at this point. The priorities for him are getting to Penn State and Michigan, which only recently offered, rather than travelling to one of the other schools. The Irish are also home Nov. 18, but he is going to the game at Penn State instead.

He could still visit Notre Dame in December, particularly for its banquet, which is usually a big recruiting weekend for the Irish but it is clear is focus is mostly on Penn State and Ohio State

Elston seeing him right now. Last chance U(ND).

Parsons has gotten a couple OU CB's lately, if he's out of the PSU/OSU race, Oweh gets to be the undisputed star DE recruit at whichever school Tyreke Smith doesn't go to. I thought ND's only shot was to be a playoff team and have the other two go to PSU and OSU making ND a sexy choice for Oweh where he's the star DE.

I should really care about this but I don't. Just passing on some news.

Well, in reality, there's nothing to care about. He's not coming here and he's made that pretty clear. At this point, he's appeasing his parents by even listening and contemplating a banquet visit.

Nothing to see here

Yeah I think it's Dec. 2nd-4th. Pretty much a waste of time it seems to me.

Agreed. Something would have to change dramatically for me to get excited here. He's already visited campus so the homerun visit seems unlikely.

Hopefully we are riding the wave of momentum from our first playoff appearance and we get a few surprises. Oweh would definitely fall into that category if we landed him.

Someone will have to explain the rules of when the board can and can't get excited about players circling back to ND for visits.

Griffith does, people don't get excited, then they get ridiculed. This kid does and it's a waste of time?

What am I missing?

The deep, deep cynicism that comes with following recruiting for too many cycles?

People need to settle down on acting 'too good for these kids' that cross us off then want back.

Do you like being in the playoff hunt? Do you like talking about CFB playoff scenarios in week 11 rather than how we can fire our coach?

Well these are the recruits that get you back to this place. Same with Houston - he wanted to play championship football. ND has not played championship football, and I can see why a future NFL player wouldn't want to come here based on last year. But the staff is giving these kids enough hope that they've turned the corner and can compete.

I hope he and Houston both visit. I like talking about the playoffs and wouldn't mind doing it around this time in the future too!

Griffith and Oweh would be very welcomed additions but I think we're used to being strung along with some high level recruits.

Hopefully that isn't the case and they both really want ND (and hopefully ND really wants them).

That is exactly why. Following recruiting for the last 10 years explains this to a T. Still, just like you said, nobody would complain if we landed these guys on the first Wednesday in February.

For NSD wasn't Te'o the last high profile recruit to commit at NSD that actually panned out for ND?

Yeah, I think he was the last top 5 player to do so that did. The jury is still out on Juice and ESB, though they were not as highly regarded, still were top 100 players.

This. If a kid picked ND over Duke or Stanford because it had the academics AND high-level athletics, I would think that made perfect sense. If the kid changed his tun about Stanford once they started winning 9-11 games per year, that too would make sense.

In isolation,it is not a character issue on any level that a kid is not interested in 4-8, is-Brian-Kelly-going-to-be-fired ND, but is interested in 8-1, they-control-their-own-destiny ND.

Because one of the above is very realistic and the other is not.

A visit is only a good thing, especially if ND was thought to be out of the running. This can only be viewed as a positive. Does not mean ND will land him, but it is FAR better than not getting a visit again.
