Bama recruits DE and OLB in sort of groups from what I’ve seen. They haven’t received commitments from all those DLineman just to play the front 3 positions. Some guys get bigger and play DE and others play on of the two OLB spots. They are chasing a bunch of DE/OLB prospects right now. I think they need like 8-10 bodies for their front seven and they have 4 committed so it’s about to get crazy.

The industry thinks Franklin's gonna go 3-0 vs Urbie on Oweh, Parsons and Smith. Impressive if so.

Parsons would be an OSU commit right now if he could. A lot of coaches stopped recruiting that head case. Except Franklin.

I'd bet OSU lands Oweh. They are losing I think 5 DL's to the draft this year. They need DE's in the worst way. Urban will go all in on Oweh. BTW, should tell you a lot about Parsons when Urban is in dire need of DE's this class and even he won't recruit him. This is the same guy that recruited Noah Spence and Aaron Hernandez.

FIVE-STAR DEFENSIVE END BRENTON COX DECOMMITS FROM OHIO STATE

Cox's decision leaves Ohio State without a single defensive end in this year's recruiting class. And with Tyquan Lewis and Jalyn Holmes graduating and Sam Hubbard likely off to the NFL following the Cotton Bowl, it's a position of great need.

The staff planned to take two more defensive ends this cycle, with New Jersey four-star Jayson Oweh and Cleveland Heights four-star Tyreke Smith their top remaining targets. With Cox now out of the picture — and highly unlikely to take his official visit this weekend as previously planned — the staff will undoubtedly have to ramp up their respective recruitments.

Cox will take an official visit to Georgia on the weekend of Dec. 15, and then sign with his college of choice during the Early Signing Period one week later. All signs point toward the Bulldogs being the pick, but it appears the Crimson Tide made quite the impression last weekend, too.
