Won't make it back to ND this month. Goal is now to get back in August according to Wiltfong.
***New LB offer

His mother is even on record as stating that the next round of visits will be to watch a team practice for those he is serious about. ND obviously being one. Not sure about the exact schedule, but I'm pretty sure that isn't in July.

Summer/ Fall practice starts Aug 1st (or around then) with the team being in Culver the first week I believe, so I would expect him to visit the second or third week of Aug then?

Koon's going to wig out even more. No, wait a minute. He's already got McGrone penciled in as scUM.

That's precisely why this update from Wiltfong is BS. Nothing has been set, at all.

He's totally bought in to the click bait crap and this is going to get that thread all hot and bothered. 1. McGrone has never, at least publicly that I've seen, set a July visit with ND. 2. His mother is on record saying that August for practices was the plan. Why on earth would you phrase it, McGrone no longer visiting ND in July. Shitty work by Wiltfong.

I think I read he plans to be at Culver.

ahhh, interesting. That would be an rather unusually visit since most of the practice will be held in only shorts and a helmet since I don't think teams can practice full pads until practice 5, or something like that.

Can a recruit attend a practice that's held offsite?

I don't think he can attend practice at an off campus facility.

Definitely UM at this point. So we'll have split in true head to head matchups, up to this point. Not bad.

I'm glad we're getting some bigger bodies and beating UCLA, personally, but I would be happy with McGrone too. He seems like a really good kid and he's fast.

Any chance that there is no coincidence concerning the timing of announcements from Simon (committed) and Lamb (hopefully committing) just days before McGrone heads to the barbecue with a decision shortly thereafter.

My mind is filled with conspiracy theories.

Simon + Lamb is about x1,000,000 better than getting McGrone. Hell, just Simon alone is better than getting McGrone.

I wouldn't sit on McGrone whatsoever. Kids gonna be a star wherever he ends up. And I would not be surprised to see him go to Meatchicken.....I'm really impressed by his film, and what he's done since recovering from his injured knee!!

McGrone is a good prospect, but I'd rather have the perfect Rover fit and the future Mike in Lamb.

I do to, however, I don't think the two are that exponentially better than McGrone, as you stated above.

Obviously I'd take all 3 and I like McGrone quite a bit. I wouldn't have minded if they offered and accepted his commitment pre-injury, lol. But if it's between Simon and McGrone, I choose Simon, fairly easily. Lamb and McGrone is probably a wash. Lamb's size and coverage ability for that size is truly impressive and something needed on this roster. However, the speed and quickness of McGrone is as well. Either way, getting Simon and Lamb is a HUGE win for the staff, getting 2 of the 3 has to be considered a victory.

Pressure is on Ovie and Bo now.

Someday we'll look back and say... if ND would have only offered McGrone early & skipped on whoever didn't pan out of the 4 LB's ND is getting. Such is the way of the hindsight armchair recruiting guru.

That said, if all goes as expected today, ND did their job. They got 2 of the 3 guys they were after. Rank them however you want, it is a victory like Lucky said.

But it's still ok to has a sad on missing Cam McGrone. Kids gonna be a stat machine and on the wrong sideline in '18 & '19...

Hopefully McGrone isnt the next Kirkland Jr.

In hindsight he would have been a much better take that Josh Barajas.
