What did he say?

Paraphrasing:

For the high academic national recruit, Stanford is the Bama, the Ohio St, the USC.

ND's current 247 Comp APR is 90.03 Stanford's just 87.59.

ND's current 247 TTC is 66 points higher with just 81 scholarships awarded vs Stanford's with all 85 awarded.

He needs to be called out on Twitter for not using his own company's data. Does he not believe in his product? Wonder how Shannon feels about that?

So he didn't actually mention Notre Dame?

If not I don't see that as throwing ND under the bus at all...

How many academic casualties has Stanford had in the last two years?

As much as everyone has said Foster is the #1 OT and the overall player this cycle it was Walker Little and Josh Lugg who outperformed him at Army Bowl week in San Antonio. Everyone can have a bad game but a week where everyone agrees others did better might be explained by the level of competition Little and Lugg face during the season vs what Foster sees... or then again, maybe he had the flu? Who knows.

It sure would be odd if Foster ends up a college RT and Lugg ends up a LT. Talk about flipping the script.

The one thing I did notice is that the pre-filmed clips of him tossing around the various schools hats, the ND hat was the only one that had a sticker still on the hat, like he had just bought it from the stadium fan shop. LOL.

funny moment on ISD post signing day podcast when Sarrell's name was brought up and Matt Freeman remarked that after Sarrell committed to Stanford, Foster's family told him he had wanted to attend Stanford since the 3rd grade. Queue the "What 7 year old knows they want to go to Stanford??" jibes. I guess Freeman felt Sarrell's family hadn't been exactly truthful with him throughout his recruitment.

To me, reading between the lines ND was the backup plan for Sarrell all along in case he didn't get into Stanford.

They should just paint the Golden Dome Silver for all the 2nd place finishes ND has.

This. It was literally on a chalkboard in his room that he referenced over and over in interviews. He never let anyone see it though because of that. Foster played it perfectly. Hats off to him.

Then perhaps the coaching staff should get their collective heads out of their asses and stop losing to teams we should be curb stomping, and I include the Tree in that as well.

At what point does Notre Dame just officially become the team that teams like Stanford should be curb stomping? When does ND forfeit that higher ground? Because it feels like that happened a few years ago.

STOP! Less than a few years ago they were two plays away from the playoffs. Just because they aren't in the playoffs every year doesn't mean they are a third tier program. 2 out of the last 5 years ND was a serious contender WITH f***ing DII coaches. Did they not go make some home run hires this year? Kelly will be gone soon enough so put the Boo Bird bit to bed for a while, please.

Those two things don't go together when you're making a point that things are improving.

Think what he is saying is that BK wont be at ND long because he doesnt want to be nor does ND want him to be. There were not any better coaches this year on the market that ND could get and those that were, were not worth paying out his guarantee for. There is hope next year will yield a better crop of coaches on the market. Im sure BK thinks that if he gets to 9 or 10 wins that puts him back in the driver seat for finding greener pastures.

Look at the lack of fire in his recent interview. Look at the guys face. He's aged 20 years in 7. He doesnt want to be there anymore.

BK took this program farther than any other coach since Holtz. Last season sucked but the changes this offseason have helped right the ship and things will be good again moving forward. I agree with Crusader that many of you need to stop whining about how bad ND is. We played in the NC game in 2012 and we were one play away from making the CFP in 2015. Has Stanford won the NC or been to the CFP recently???

Being better than Boob, Tdub and Chunky Charlie might be your bar, but their are quite a few people who have higher standards than that.

I very much hope that is the case. But it is impossible to definitively tell one way or another, we simply have to wait. I just hope we don't get into this "they need more than one year to gel" crap if the year isn't successful. If they are as good as you say, there won't be a discussion. If they aren't, BK needs to go. Plain and simple.

We played in the NC game in 2012 and we were one play away from making the CFP in 2015.

2012 we got deflowered in the MNC game showing just how far away we were. Not sure that helps the argument. Saying we were one play away in 2015 is generous and ignores the fact that ND wasn't getting in even if Stanford was a W. The best win of 2015 was against Temple, who lost to Toledo, South Florida and Houston by more points than ND.

BK is 2-5 against Stanford at ND has produced one AP top 10 finish in 7 seasons and has finished unranked 4 times.

Stanford, during BK's tenure, has produced 4 AP top ten finishes and has finished outside the top 25 once.

I think it's objectively tough to argue that ND is a better program than Stanford right now.

ND has to start winning these games. ND has to circle USC and Stanford on the calendar, and then schedule around it.

2016 Stanford scheduled Washington State the week before ND. 2015 they scheduled friggin Cal.

2016 USC game ND scheduled VT the week before

ND starts winning those games and recruiting becomes a lot easier.

Stanford will always get the Liberal families from Cal because Liberals are against everything ND stands for anyway but the non libs they will get.

Right now it is a toss up education with better weather and football for Stanford. Cant do anything about the weather but you can improve football wise.

I'm a proud liberal from a family of proud liberals. And a proud Notre Dame alum from a family of proud Notre Dame alums. Go fuck yourself, Ray.

Agree we need to start beating Stanford more though. Go Irish.

These are the dumbass comments that a lot of people are getting tired of. Where the fuck did I say that is my bar?? I stated a fact that he has been the best since Holtz and as least led us to the NC. You're the typical spinner of comments to fit your agenda. I don't care we got blasted in the NC...Stanford didn't make it there and we did. If we have to have an 8-5 season to make the CFP every few years, I would rather do that than have Stanford's record and not make it. My bar is CFP and NC, not beating a certain team.

1 play away huh? Bullshit. People forget MSU vs Iowa was a 4 vs 5 matchup. Stanford at 6 went to the Rose. ND WOULD NOT have jumped undefeated Iowa or Big 10 Champ MSU. I'm so tired of hearing that crap being said. Oh and 2012? Did ND even get off the bus? Stop it with the ALMOST WON crap. Time to win BK or gtfo.

Ummmm, when did 8-5 become acceptable though? I swear man times have changed. ND is recruiting at a level where a NY6 Bowl should be the standard with the occasional run at the CFP. This give me 8-5 once in a while is truly unbelievable to me.
