We've went over this before but we don't do unsourced transfer speculation around here. This has been the case for a very long time. When information comes out we'll discuss it at that time.

15 DLineman in the picture. Maybe he was still inside, maybe he had a commitment, or maybe there’s some news coming out of this. At this point I’ve heard Tim Prister on the II Podcast mention he’s not an FBS DTackle and Bryan Driskell mention he made a few plays but still very few and far between. I’m wondering if we’ll see something happen with this kid soon. He’s only in his 4th semester so grad transfer is out of the question but I wonder if we’ll see some sort of medical for the next 3-4 semesters before a grad transfer happens or if they convince him to just transfer. ND needs two spots for Liufau and Bertrand and there’s not a worse scholarship player unfortunately than Ewell. I haven’t heard one peep about him not being a good kid or him being anything other than a good teammate so you can’t just kick a kid off the team if he’s doing everything right and giving 100% of his time and effort. Curious how ND will tip toe through this.

Okay. Fair enough. I'll edit it to just say, "hmmmm, no sources."

75% of this board is speculation. It's using sources to get an idea of where recruits are going. It is people speculating where a guy is on the depth chart at Notre Dame based on sources at practice or seeing those 2 minute videos. There are people speculating about what the roster will look like in 2019 and in 2020 (there are entire pages reserved for the 2019 scholarship count and the 2020 recruiting and how many guys ND will take). Having said all of that, I thought a picture at Mike Elston's house showing 15 of the 16 scholarship defensive lineman taking a picture at the post Spring Game meal is actually newsworthy. There's a lot of smoke-to-fire posts on this board and I thought that a guy who hasn't set foot on the football field one time in 4 semesters on campus would be something worth tracking if he doesn't show up to a meal at his position coach's house that involves his entire position group. Not one time in my post did I mention a lack of character or poor effort by Darnell Ewell. I also never actually said, "Darnell Ewell is transferring, no sources." I also probably added 5-6 "I Wonder" statements in there which gives a pretty solid idea that it is me spitballing ideas of why he wasn't in the picture. If you didn't like the fact that I was thinking out loud about the possibilities of what this picture signifies (where I also included it could be absolutely nothing) then I sincerely apologize.

No need for apologies. It's just our policy to keep a tight leash on speculation about transfers by current ND players. They read these boards, as do their families, and the conversation that tends to occur around such issues can be hurtful. So just hold off on openly speculating about this stuff until you've got something concrete to share. You can always talk about it via PM.

NDdomer is referring to when I posted because I was told he said that when he was out at C J's Pub over the winter and it was supposedly posted on is twitter and Instagram when he was still wearing his sling (see his thread post 314, 317 and 326). Ended up being a mistake. Difference is this my post was not a conclusion drawn from someone missing from a picture but a comment heard and seen when out drinking.

But in all seriousness, that tweeted picture is far more public information than anything that was ever available in regards to Vaughn's "transferring". However, it still is up in his thread even after a mod reached out to sources and discovered nothing in relation.

I'm not trying to be personal with Dad. I don't know the guy or have an issue with him bringing what he heard to the board.

It's the picking and choosing of what's considered rumor and what isn't and how it's treated on this board that I am trying to point out isn't consistent.

If he and Ruhland end up medicals, I hope we push hard for Simon. It's been suggested we may not know the plan for Ruhland until fall, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
