I rarely make these type of predictions, but a while back I said I think he may turn into another Chris Zorich. His film reminded me so much about Chris.

That would be awesome, fingers crossed.

I hope so, I'm stoked he's getting great early reviews but I'm not seeing it on film. To top it off, I spent a lot of time on him, Adams and their teammate CJ Thorpe watching each film and instead of watching the highlighted, I watched the other guys... I have major questions about Adams and Hinish.

The best one snuck out the back door without an offer:

(...and he had a Stanford offer so that wasn't the problem)

I thought people really liked his junior film?

His highlights are good, not Jay Ade or Jam Franklin good IMO. Let me be clear, I hope he turns out to be a great player and I like him a lot more than i like most of the log jam ahead of him but film for film, I'll take MTA, Jay Ade and Jam Franklin first. Ewell always more intrigued me because of his physical skill set more than his film. Hard to believe that guy was not in good football condition cuz he has a base. Hopefully some time with Balis, the training table and staying out of the pool will get him in football shape cuz I doubt he showed up with bad weight.

Regardless, the '17, '18 & '19 DT classes are going to get ND where they need to be, I 100% believe that.

Zorich is mixed. Ha

He said being mixed made him the beast he is. Growing up on the polarized South Side, he wasn't accepted by either whites or blacks, and it made him a hard worker and fighter.

So cool! I have 4 daughters and know what this means to them. Hinish is my new favorite player.

Not saying this couldn’t happen at other schools, but ND is a special place!

I just wanted to give the big guy props on probably the best game of his career against Syracuse. Kudos on your play Kurt!

He was an animal yesterday. He broke through the line at least 2 times, might've been a 3rd but I couldn't see the jersey before the camera panned away.

It's refreshing to see our players getting better during a season. Hinish is on the upswing and we hope to have MTA back for bowl season.

He’s getting a fair amount of reps recently. Definitely kudos for his hard work and effort.

Kid is ascending fast. I actually think our D Line will be even better next year.

Absolutely. They will all be back unless Hayes goes crazy and transfers

I can't imagine he'll transfer and do not think he'll declare. He's getting a lot of PT and though what he does doesn't always show up on the stat sheet, he's playing very well and is very disruptive. I think Kareem returns but Okwara will declare.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">DT Kurt Hinish has come a long way from the guy who was looking for a garbage can to puke in after his first CFB practice. He's now a starter at nose for <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NotreDame?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#NotreDame</a> and ready for an expanded role on and off the field <a href="https://t.co/NWBAagVWww">https://t.co/NWBAagVWww</a></p>— Jamie Uyeyama (@jamieuyeyama) <a href="https://twitter.com/jamieuyeyama/status/1163446633138413569?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 19, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Also had some positive notes on the younger guys:
Hinish had very high praise for how advanced Lacey is with his technique and is just as impressed with his work ethic.

“He is incredible. He has great hands. He has good feet. He’s one of those guys who will always stay after with me and work extra stuff because he wants to get better.”

Cross turned some heads in practice on Saturday and he’s earned attention from the older guys on the D-line as well.

“He has a great get off. Probably one of the best get offs from our defensive line all-around. He penetrates the offensive line better than I’ve ever seen from any freshman.”

Kurt is a guy when he signed I pegged to be a big time competitor his junior and senior seasons. Hope he dominates this year.

Kurt doesn’t get nearly enough credit on this site for all that he does. He is the definition of a lunch pale guy. Kid is tough as nails and brings 100% effort on every snap. But he is much more than a high motor over achiever. He gets the job done and makes splash plays. He had a real good pass rush move on his sack on Saturday. And you have to love the face paint.

Hinish is a flat out Fighting Stud. What a warrior. When MTA clicks back on, we will be Monsters in the Middle.

Man I seem to recall at the beginning of his recruitment, that Hinish was regarded as the lesser of the Central Catholic duo. David Adams unfortunately was never able to play, but Hinish has been a contributor since day 1. Do we think he takes the free 5th year?

Hope so! Super nice guy too. He signed autographs for my kids last year and was by far the nicest and most humble to do it.

Absolutely. Hopefully MTA does enough this year to get drafted and opens up space for Lacey and Ademilola.

Lacey flashed a few times on Saturday
on limited reps. Kid is going to have a monster breakout season in 2021. Lacey maybe the most talented interior Dlinemen on the team, even over Jayson A.
