I really couldn't care less about any of the coverage on this kid's recruitment. It's obvious the media is frustrated with his silence so they are makin a huge deal out of every little in-home, offer, slight comment anyone makes. He'll probably stop taking visits and soaking in attention sometime in 2019.

Kid will be recruiting click bait til the end

its the business man. if they just came out and told you everything and were upfront all the time you wouldnt need to check in every day, hour, minute to see if there is new news.

Ohio State moves on, seeking a third WR, and offers the 170th and 196th rated WRs. James Robinson, #14 WR, visited last weekend and will be a tough pull out of Florida.

Vancouver, I really like you man and like the style you bring to this board. You get all excited about great news that comes on ND's front and say how awesome and excited you are to land a prospect. But the second things go sour you say how you could care less and this kid is just doing it for attention which is sometimes true but in this case it's 100 percent BS. No one is his family talks to the media and Steve Wiltfong is really the only guy with a pulse on this recruitment. You don't see him posting on twitter and leading reporters the wrong way ever.

Michigan was the strong leader this summer and in the fall but then they cooled on him when they thought they were getting Nico Collins. Now that Nicco is going to UGA they are back after Martin the school he always wanted to be at. ND would have had this recruitment wrapped up in the summer if they chose to go after him but we didn't. He has a lot of pro ND in his family and now it also sounds like his sister is going to Michigan on a swimming scholarship and she deserves it.

I understand your passion but there is no need to say the media is frustrated and our making a big deal out of all these moves. He will probably be in Ann Arbor this weekend and will wrap up his recruitment at any point soon. I'm just saying man don't be that guy who gets all excited when things our going our way but then when there not don't say how you don't care and this kid wasn't that big of a deal anyways. You did it with Tre Norwood as well I believe.

Keep posting away and bringing refreshing posts to this board but you just gotta roll with the punches. You can't expect much when Martin was close with Denbrock and Sanford and now neither are here and he's had to build relationships with two brand new guys. Plus Harbaugh has been way more hands on in this recruitment then Kelly has. ND has been playing catchup this whole recruitment.

I'm gonna have to go back and look at the film on this post. Seems like IE material all the way. Great knuckle bend and Mavis Beacon would be all about that words/minute count you put up. From all things I've seen, this is just the kind of post we need at IE. I'm excited to watch this play out....

I don't know, I think there has to be some level of attention he wants. He was two weeks from signing day and still being courted by schools he had never visited or shown previous interest in. He was being actively recruited by MSU, ND, UM, OSU, Iowa, Florida, UCLA, and Auburn. That's 8 schools. Either he's incredibly indecisive or he likes the attention from the coaches.

Most of those schools thought they were going to get a visit, at one point or another down the stretch. I don't know what was going on behind the scenes but he was clearly saying good things to a lot of them. Literally, Auburn, Florida, UCLA, OSU, and UM have all thought they were going to get OV's in the last week to two weeks.

Good points, I think Michigan was always the school he wanted and when they backed off he started looking around. I mean if you are from the Midwest and OSU starts showing late interest how many people are gonna tell Urban no thanks coach, I'm good. First I'm hearing about UCLA but he did take an OV to Florida so he liked them and Auburn which a new coach maybe just wanted to see what he was all about. I just think he was looking for his backup option since Michigan didn't want him last month. I think if he wanted to be at ND he would have done it already.

Whoa. You have taken what I said all wrong. I have nothing against Martin at all. I don't know if he likes attention or not and couldn't care less. I personally think he's just hearing everyone out. I was just stating that it's getting old hearing everyday about how he's big on OSU, Now he loves MSU, he now lives ND, Now Florida is getting a visit, Now Michigan. I'm just tuning it out now and the comment about 2019 was just that it feels like it's dragging on forever and you would've thought he would've committed by now.
I'm not sour whatsoever about anything that's going on with recruiting. I'm optimistic about some guys and think we have a decent shot with Harris, Yeast, Armstong. Not so sure about Tago and I feel very confident about Owusu.
Looking forward to it being over.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Frankly, I was quite surprised on how you reacted to what I said, which wasn't much. Quite clearly sai I'm sick of listening to the media talk about him

I'm very confident with Yeast, Owusu and Tago. I'd be surprised if we don't land at least them to finish the class. Kelly and co have been all over them recently and Kelly/Polian still have an in-home with Tago right before NSD.

Interesting. When is the in-home supposed to occur? Quiet Period is Sunday and the Dead Period is Monday-Thursday.

Michigan always seems to get the top Iowa WRs. Not that there are a lot of them, but they always seem to go there. With the exception of Lazard.

Don't even know why an in home would even be necessary since his family is with him on his visit. Imagine everything that needs to be covered will be taken care of on the visit.

Others have mentioned it, I don't believe this to be true. He's taking an OV to Vanderbilt once he leaves ND. He'll be there Friday to Sunday. I doubt they are doing a Sunday night in home visit.

Loy stated on a message board that every family member he has spoken to want Martin at ND. He seems very optimistic. It is Loy, but I like it

Better than them not saying that, I s'pose.

They also want him at Iowa for proximity.

And Michigan because of the relationship with Harbaugh.

And Ohio State because of on-field success.

Exactly why news on him is redundant. Thought I would mention anyways...

Question. A lot of people are making comments that Oliver is dragging out the process and loving the attention. But isn't he not saying dick to the reporters and simply taking his visits and keeping an open mind?

I mean, we have kids acting like they are Muhammad Ali in interviews and playing games with fans on Twitter, etc. But we don't say anything about them. Is there any chance that Oliver is just trying to quietly make what is his biggest decision of his life to date?

I don't know.

This is what I was saying yesterday. I'm not sure if he likes the attention or not. Considering he's so quiet and never tweets, I honestly think he's just hearing everyone out.
If I was a highly touted recruit, I'd certainly love to meet lots of coaches and get treated like a rock star in 5 campuses. Absolutely.
It's just constantly hearing about it in the media every day is getting tired
Anyways, seems like a respectful kid. Hope he picks ND
