IN HIS WORDS: “I actually might commit within the next week or two. And then I'd only be taking my official to the school I'm committed to.” - Rivals

Will obviously be Stanford or Notre Dame if he commits before school starts.

Was that from rivals? Or was that from scout?

I wouldn't put to much stock into it. Usually when he is confident he sends a tweet out about his new crystal ball pick, I haven't seen anything yet. He was quite about it. Wiltong did mention we would land a commit this week but I'm guessing that is the 2018 LB from PA.

Yikes....this tells me Loy might have heard the OSB got into Stanford.....I've read OSB was fairly aloof about ND at II and has spoken highly about Stanford. I really hope his lil bro doesn't follow him there. GO IRISH! BEAT STANFORD!

You just said:

"I like this news and feel confident he's coming to ND. Sure sounded all along that he was VERY interested in Stanford though....."

lol.

Where/who said he was fairly aloof about ND at Irish Invasion? I think you're just making things up as you go now.

I read/heard that multiple times actually as well. That at least Amon Ra was more enthusiastic at II and Osiris withdrawn. Could just be personality but some interpreted it as a sign of his interest in ND.

Yessir I did say all those things. I felt confident then ironically right after that someone posted that Loy CB'd him to Standord which changed everything. Go ahead and try to bully me and make me look stupid. Congratulations

Scout: decision definitely before the season, most likely within two weeks. Info came directly from OSB

I've seen 2 CB's on 247 for Stanford.

If he does choose in 2 weeks hopefully it's ND.

Fairly surprised if he were to commit to Stanford and not even OV to ND. You'd think he would just want to come watch his bro play for free, at the least.

I contemplated posting this as I wasn't sure how much there was to it. Andrew Ivins at BGI said that there were a few things that their father, John ?, wasn't too happy with that was going on with ESB while at ND. Mainly in the nutrition and training department. However, he believes this wouldn't be an issue going forward. Wonder is that plays into OSB's decision.

Fire Longo?

He really didn't specify that's why I was reluctant to post it because just didn't know how much conviction there was to it. However he did say that Mr. Brown was fairly open with him about the topic.

Ah, what does his dad know about nutrition and physical training?

Not that its a bad thing to have players like this on your team, but no recruit I've seen has ever reminded me so much of David Shaw.

OSB is exactly what I imagine a high-school David Shaw to have been. I can't imagine Shaw doesn't appeal to him big time. They both seem filled with contempt for a world that won't acknowledge their greatness.

Again, its a good very trait in a WR and a can be a good one for a coach, if you can channel it properly, which both men seem to have done.

On the other hand, despite respecting the job he's done there, I just can't root for the smugness. Shaw's in that same category with Harbaugh.

Ah, what does his dad know about nutrition and physical training?

He knows how to make muscles look as big and ripped as humanly possible! He's one of the best at that in the world.

But I was actually shocked to discover that the body-building world, as opposed to Olympic lifters, lift weights to maximize size and shape, not strength. They are not the same thing, which I didn't understand. While you are obviously going to get bigger if you lift for strength, and while you are obviously going to get stronger if you are emphasizing hypertrophy, the purpose and technique of each is different. That's why linemen don't look like body builders and why body builders aren't the world's strongest men.

Football lifting is different than both, emphasizing more functional strength--a bit like cross fit but with more elements of raw strength training.

Interestingly enough Loy said that he hasn't been admitted to Stanford yet, or even filled out the application. So, though he's expected to, that might change things in future should he pick Stanford soon.

I posted a few months back that this recruitment just didn't feel right. Mr. Brown being upset with how ND handles some things seems like a strong possibility that hopefully won't play a role with Amon Ra, too.

Their dad really seems like a helicopter dad and he is wayyy to involved with his kids football lifes good or bad. Basically he's the reason his kids are at Mater Dei and not Servite. As long as we get Daniels and Amon Ra I am ok with Osiris going to Stanford. I still want him part of this class though but with us after Black, Calvin, Noah Igbinoghene and others it's not the end of the world. Come on Osirs come join the family, I still feel like it will be ND and I am not sure what kind of info Loy is getting but who knows. Maybe it's just his gut feeling but with him not being admitted to Stanford and spots filling up for us at WR maybe he just wants to secure his spot?

I wouldn't put his dad as a helicopter parent. You could say the same about 75% of parents. If the kid's dad is a helicopter parent and his son's final two choices are Stanford and Notre Dame, then I think he's doing a pretty good job.

No doubt he wants the best for his kids but IMO just from stuff I've heard and read sometimes he's just a little to involved and part of that was the reason he took his kids out of Servite and took them to Mater Dei. He's not Mr. Barnett or Mr. Anzalone but he's very involved and very vocal which sometimes isn't a bad thing but it's also not always the best thing.

He's doing a good job of guiding his sons to fantastic institutions of both learning and football... but that doesn't mean he can't be overbearing in general, as well.

(Not saying this is specifically the case here. Just that a parent can lead their kids to good decisions but also be a nuisance haha)

I hear ya, but all staffs are very confident he ends up here and scout is VERY confident he does. Sampson and Freeman are the two best mods to follow for crooting and they are both confident so I'll take that to the bank. If Christian, Freeman, Sampson and Anna are confident then so am I.
