Do we know that he wasn't afforded said accommodations on this test?

Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

I would be willing to bet he wasn't.
This article is not on Gary but on claiborne but indicates he could have untimed accommodation....i can also say with certainty that the accommodation HAS TO MADE otherwise violates the american disabilities act
At the time, I didn’t stop to think whether Claiborne has a learning disability. I simply assumed (ass, you, me) that Claiborne didn’t take the test seriously, as plenty of incoming players have done in the past. If he truly has a learning disability (for which we now know he could have obtained an “untimed accommodation“)

I love how the article makes it seem like Gary just loved Michigan that much and chose to play for free.

As if we wouldn't do the same thing.

Unsurprising news for anyone who has been paying attention: Clemson pays its players and the huge uptick in booster spending has been noticed by other like-minded alumni from the big football culture schools. I have it on fairly good authority that Georgia's wealthy alumni base saw what Clemson was building around 2016 and said "Wait, we can be that obvious about it?" There's a huge arms race going on right now between several of the major football factories. It will be interesting to see if Alabama restarts its engine now that other teams are knocking on the door.

Most of the other team stuff comes from it being linked on /r/cfb. Posters see it on /r/cfb and bring the link over here to discuss.

Love it when someone says they have it on good authority, yet won’t say who it was. Until people with knowledge and the avenue for bringing these things to everyone’s attention, this will continue to go on.

It was Kirby Smart. He leaned into the recorder I had in my pocket and said, "Otis Johnson's check better clear soon or Justin Fields is going to walk."

You know it doesn't work like that. I went to school with some people who have connected relatives. Those relatives talk about things they've heard after a few whiskey sours, but it's never offered to me who it is they're speaking about and it's always "rumors." No. 1, they wouldn't tell me anything identifiable on principal because for all they know I'm a dipshit who goes on internet message boards. (Good instincts.) No. 2 they wouldn't tell me because I'm not a local guy and don't have a lineage of attending the University for 7 generations and I wear a blue and gold polo every gameday. "Good authority" means I've heard it's happening from people with enough information that they can connect the dots themselves.

I should have been a little more specific. I agree, there are people (parents, alum, friends, etc.) at all schools who know something. I was referring to those like Bacon who is saying this and has a platform where he could facilitate some momentum.

i always remember how uncommitted to academics he came across as on the Michigan Showtime series. He was practically Ronald Ollie levels bad

Wasn't he one that tested so poorly on that test that measures intelligence? I might be thinking of a different UM player but I thought it was him

Didn't Harbaugh actually make reference to this several years back?

Yes, it is incredibly well known. Harbaugh acknowledged it himself.

You've got a guy who has a half dozen documented examples of pulling scholarships, pushing kids off the team, impeding transfers, forcing kids onto medicals, etc. and Michigan fans are so delusional that they act like what's holding them back is that Harbaugh is too good of a guy, and the school is too ethical with academics that are too strong. It's such a crock. There are multiple guys in Michigan's current class that flat out aren't takes for ND because of academics.

in Bacon's new book he claims that back in the Carr/Rich Rod era's 80% of the team were general studies majors but now under Harbaugh only 6 on the roster are. I have my doubts though the academic rigours have increased all that much. In the Carr era players flat out didnt have to go to class during "rivalry" weeks which was basically the whole football season

So the whole time they were claiming that they were a high-minded academic institution in the 2000s they actually were just an SEC style football-factory in the North?

Can't wait to see what the book in ten years says about the Harbaugh era. (Hint: It'll say he was crooked but that right now they're back to putting academics first.)
