We can all wax poetic about fit and Urban Liar and all that jazz but really the crux of everything is that Hayes is a calculated risk. He's a good use of 1 spot out of 85 because of his upside, but the odds of him panning out are low. Maybe 30%? No film, injury history, etc. but unquestionable athletic traits.
So if we get him, great. If not, probably doesn't matter when we look back in four years... but maybe just maybe he ends up being a total stud.
Because karma and divine justice don't actually exist, he'll probably end up being a once-in-a-generation defensive tweener, and Urban's bullsh*t will be rewarded.

Yup. Hayes and Jashon Cornell will be the two bookends on a championship winning D line.
Let alone if Meyer pushes him out before he can early enroll!
I almost wouldn't put that past UM.
The between the lines on this one would be that Hayes doesn't really have the grades for ND, let alone early enrollment.
That makes the most sense, short of a bagman offering tons of cash to his parents.
Anyone have any information on how DH stands with ND admissions?
I have no problem with D. Hayes saying nice things about each school he visits. He left OSU without having made a commitment, thus we may well be in play still. if he receives another visit from the ND staff, we are still seriously in play. It may be that he he doesn't have the grades, but we should have known that two weeks ago when ND seemed to give him the royal treatment. I am going to give the kid the benefit of the doubt and wait. He already made the mistake of committing to U$C and then de-committing, he ought not do it again.
yes he has been cleared
Thanks! For early enrollment too, right?
I wonder if this speaks to other linebacker recruits that are coming in, including but not limited to McCulloch?
I just have it in my head that there is something basic at work here.
Ever since he tweeted the picture wearing the number 9, referring to 'being Jaylon Jr.'
I am not mad. I have no axe to grind, nor do I have a horse in this race. (I definitely wouldn't grind a horse.)
I am just really curious about the kids behaviors.
There is something.

247- Hayes said top 3 of osu, msu,ND......Meyer didn't promise playing time but stated he isn't being recruited to redshirt
“All are even right now,”
“Notre Dame, it’s Notre Dame,” Hayes said Sunday night regarding his high interest in the Irish. “Notre Dame is where everyone thinks I’m committed too.”
“With Ohio State, they’re new, but with Coach (Tony) Alford, I’ve known him since I was a sophomore,” Hayes said. “I’ve known Coach Alford for so long and my mom loves Coach (Urban) Meyer more than any coach I’ve talked too. My pops loved Ohio State. This was his first trip he’s come on. I had a great time.”
“There were lots of things I took away from Ohio State. The opportunity after football. Coach Meyer does it with Real Life Wednesdays where players get a chance to talk with Fortune 500 companies and ESPN Analysts. Guys are leaving as seniors, or me coming as mid-year so I’ll grad in three and a half years, guys are leaving with degrees and degrees don’t promise you a job. At Ohio State players are leaving with degrees with four or five jobs offering six figures because of the opportunities Coach Meyer is presenting them. You’re getting a chance to establish relationships with his contacts and it’s not what you know it’s who you know. That was fantastic, their development of the man.
BAG MEN
“My mom loves Coach Meyer and getting on campus and meeting him for the first time, it was great and I really enjoyed myself.”
“Where it all started and they’ve been with me for the entire process,” Hayes said.
“This visit is getting back to where it all started. Where my recruiting process started. They’ve been with me through it all. It will be interesting. I can’t wait to get back down. I just look forward to seeing them play. I haven’t seen them play in a real game since my sophomore year.”
regarding a return trip to Notre Dame?
“I took one official and one unofficial, I’ve already seen everything I need to see from them,”

Sure seems like he's shut the door on ND. Not much you can do. I'm afraid that if he were to choose ND, he would be a major headache.
Yup. Hayes and Jashon Cornell will be the two bookends on a championship winning D line.
At this point I don't really care if he ends up in South Bend, or Columbus......
What sticks out to me, is the fact he discusses, with the writer, Urban's contacts and what they can do for him post college life.......did I miss something entirely about graduating from college?????? He's gonna graduate from tO$U, with some kind of degree, and have Urban help him get a job making 6 figures right out of school????? Would that be under the Aaron Hernandez portfolio????
Meyer statements like this need their own thread so we can keep track of the lies. Next year at this time when the kid is reshirting we can add another one to the list of urban lies. I want to publish a book. The Urban Myths of Recruiting. I heard this kid is going to be the "Percy Harvin of the pass rush"
