I do think it will hurt a bit. Out of the top 10 CBs in the NFL, only one is below 6ft.

ND had him at 5-11/193 on their bio. Basically spot on. 1/4" off ain't nothing. Hands don't matter for a CB and a 6-3.5 wingspan on a 5-11 guy is good.

Actually, there were several CB's that measured in below 6 ft.

DeAndre Baker measured at 5'11 on the dot and he was considered by many as the #1 or #2 corner to take in the draft.

That’s the time I was expecting from him.

It’s not a bad time, but it all but relegates him as slot corner at the next level.

He’s not the strongest (14 reps at 225), or the height-weight-speed specimen that will make scouts drool. His craft is his technique, and he’s probably one of the best, if not the best, technically sound corners in the draft.

He’s a solid second round pick.

deandre baker (UGA) only ran a 4.53, so not much separation there. same basic size (5-11), same bench reps.

greedy williams (LSU) ran a 4.38, and at 6-2.

byron murphy (WA), another same size guy and projected my several mocks to before Julian, ran slower at 4.55

I don’t think his time is that bad. A guy like Joe Haden ran as slow or slower and is a good cornerback at the same size. People get too caught up in 40 times. It’s not like he ran that slow.

I think the order of the CBs is going to be Greedy, Murphy, Baker, Love. Love going mid 2nd.

A 4.54 with his instincts/skill set is functionally a 4.4. I'm more surprised by the 14 reps. He's a bulldog when it comes to tackling. I guess I was expecting more but once again, when you do things the right way you need less physical talent.

Baker and Murphy both had 14 too. Greedy doesn't look to have even tested on bench. That's the top 4 CBs per most mocks.

The top CB’s in the NFL over the last few years ran between 4.3-4.45 with only a few exceptions. Richard Sherman is not that fast (4.60) but has incredible technique, holds everyone, and has amazing size for a CB. Casey Hayward however is 5’11” like Julian Love and ran a 4.57 and is currently one of the best CBs in the entire NFL. There’s a small chance for Julian Love to be special but his technique and everything is really really impressive.

Overview
Pure and simple, Love is a cover guy who possesses the feet, hips, instincts and competitiveness you want in a corner. He operates with outstanding technique from both man and zone, and his ability to anticipate and recognize routes allows for stickier coverage. He's more finesse than physical and his lack of top speed might need to be schemed around with certain matchups. However, Love’s cover talent, intelligence and ball skills give him a good shot at succeeding outside or from the slot.

He’s looking like a solid 2nd rounder. As much as I’d love to have him back this year, I still think he made the right choice & couldn’t do much to improve his draft stock. Best of luck to him.

The experts seem to be more critical of the 3 than Julian.

I’ll still preach that I think Love could be Malcolm Jenkins 2.0. Play corner for a few years, then move to safety and become a pro bowler.

yup, and they are both 6-2 to 6-3 kind of guys.
i still think he'll go 4th with a RKG boost

Tied for 19th on the BJ too.

Not to far off from Baker and Murphy though.
