To me, it will be either Notre Dame or UGA, I can't see Alabama yet.

I'm not questioning you by asking the following, I'm questioning the universe...

In a ND vs UGA scenario, why would Demetris Robertson follow Isaiah McKenzie to Athens when IM's one of a handful of guys that does what he does better than he does? Follow that with IM's there because he had no choice, whereas DM does.

...and just for kicks, ran across this yesterday:

Here is my non-scientific reasoning. I think the kid marches to the beat of his own drum. Alabama is Football U, and he doesn't see himself as all-football, so I think in the end he will not chose UA.

If he stays down South--which their will be tons of pressure to do--I would see him choosing to stay close to home at the school with the better reputation: UGA.

Marches to the beat of his own drum and ends up at his home state school. He got some hand me down drums then.

An interesting quote from that article is that he states his mom really wants to be able to comes see him play because she's never been able to see him play. Why would that change? What am I missing?

If she lives in GA and hasn't watched her son play now, why would it change if he stays in GA and goes to UGA. Seems odd.

Good news Mrs. Robertson, your son will be on NBC, so you can DVR his performances and watch whenever is convenient for you!

I know those things gentlemen but what changes if he goes to Athens? Does she live in Athens which makes it closer? I guess my thought is if he lives in Georgia now and its that important to see him play, I'd think she'd have already seen him play.

He de-committed from Alabama, and it sounds like he had his sites set on Stanford. That is not your typical recruit. But that doesn't mean he can't conclude that UGA makes sense for him.

Mom clearly plays a big part in his decision too;
Wes Muilenburg: What can you share about your process of de-commitment from Alabama??
Demetris Robertson: It was a good process. My mom really made me do it. She wanted me to open things up so I can see everything about the college and stuff like that.

Also, NDdomer2 might be on to something with why his mom can't make games:
“It was scheduled, but Mom had some stuff come up on the job at the last minute,” Robertson said. “No disinterest at all.”

Really wasn't looking for speculation. I was curious if any of the other sites had produced any info on this.

I've been told his mother wasn't a big part of his life growing up but that's changed a little bit lately. Hence why him and his older brother are so close.

Can his brother edit film or wrap ankles? Hire him before Harbaugh makes him dean of their economics department.

Heard that Harbaugh is getting a Gopro selfie stick attached to his Khaki's so that he can permanently facetime recruits, both when sleeping and awake.

Hey Jimbo, is that a selfie stick or are ya just happy to see me?

This only reinforces the fact that I can't think Harbaugh without seeing Charlie Sheen.

So many possible reasons. Now that all the major programs want him, maybe she's just starting to realize how talented he is and wants to be part of that. Maybe she realizes he might be playing in the NFL one day and wouldn't mind a new house. We try to read too much into these recruits. What may make sense from our point of view may not even be a consideration for the recruit.

Q: Why did you pick school A when school B has the education you want, is close to home and has a good football program? A: Because I like school A's colors.

Not sure why you'd quote my post saying I wasn't asking for speculation and then go ahead and speculate but again. I don't want his thread cluttered with people making up the first thing that comes to mind. Was genuinely looking for THE answer as I know we do have people on the board that may know something.

Just pointing out that while we'd all like for these to make sense to us, many times they never do.
