His HS film was better at LB than WR. I was actually disappointed when they put him on offense.

Yeah. I guess it is his hits and positional play on specials that makes me wonder how good he would be at LB.

If he does his thing during senior bowl week and then runs a 4.5 +\- .03 40 yard dash it’s going to be really hard to keep him out of the first round. I know this years receiver class is a very deep and a very special group, but Chase is special.

He's on an absolute tear. 8 TDs in a 4 game stretch is ridiculous.

I think we're going to miss him dearly next season. I think Kevin Austin will be good, as well as Jordan Johnson, but I don't think Claypool is valued enough.

He's the most physical receiver we've had since Floyd and he just does everything so well. In a recent II podcast someone asked ig they would rather have Claypool or Fuller; Sampson basically said Fuller and its not close.

I'd probably take Fuller too, but its close.

Claypool can make contested catches, Fuller couldn't. I'd take Sr year Claypool over either SO or JR Fuller.

But Fuller sure was fun to watch.

Fuller didn’t need to make contested catches. He was a game breaker.

You don't need to make contested catches when you're 3 steps behind the secondary. I'd be thrilled with either. Lenzy is the new Fuller, so we don't have to choose!

ELITE

I hope he kills it. He's going to be a steal in the draft, unless he shoots up the boards but I don't anticipate that being the case. Walterfootball has him #15 at WR, ~rd 3 or 4.

Poor man's DeAndre Hopkins. Actually he'll probably put up better combine numbers.

Yeah if he tests we’ll here and at the combine and shows us out in the game, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with him.

If he can run a real solid 40 he's gonna fly off the board.

I think he will; he LOOKS faster than Boykin, but we were all pretty shocked when MB ran that 40 time last year. Anything close to that, and maybe a team takes a flier on him mid-late 2nd round.

(Pack desperately need weapons.....just saying, Brian Gutekunst)

I’d be happy seeing Claypool and EQ lines up catching balls from Rodgers. I also think Claypool will be a steal in the draft.

6' 1", 212 lbs vs 6-4.3 229

i'll give you the hands and arms...but other than that, i don't see the comparisons in their game....what is it that you do?

if he runs a similar time as Miles hes def a 2nd rounder imo. The success of DK Metcalf will have teams looking for fast big body WR's.

At the risk of sounding like a total homer, I think Claypool is the best WR in the NFL draft this year. He has a prototype NFL body, is exceptional at making contested catches, has great hands and has plenty of speed, quickness, body control, and strength.

crazy year for WR's.
CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, Tee Higgins, Tyler Johnson, Justin Jefferson, KJ Hamler, KJ Hill are all high end guys.

Theres quite a few others that arent necessarily household names that are getting drafted towards the top: Laviska Shenault Jr, Jalen Reagor, Gabriel Davis, Brandon Aiyuk

Honestly I thought Hopkins was bigger than that, even though he's still bigger than most corners he comes up against. I was going more with the physicality, ability to box out defenders, and make hands catches away from his body. Hopkins is also an uber-elite route runner while Claypool could still use plenty of development in that regard. There may be better comparisons out there but that is what initially came to mind.

He reminds me of Mike Evans.

IIRC, Evans ran a great 40. Hopefully Chase does too. Regardless I think he can be an Evans like WR.

I think Claypool's versatility as a blocker or a hybrid WR/TE for spread teams will give him a boost. Or at least it should. If I was Arizona, I'd be all over Claypool.

Atlanta may want to replace Sanu opposite of Julio

totally different WR's tho and they used all three before. But maybe the NFL will go to strict 2 wr sets?

Well, him and Julio are. Plus, using that logic, every team uses 3 WR's and most don't, if any, have 1st-3rd talent at that 3rd WR position, so I guess every team is an option.

Specifically to the Falcons, they just paid Julio 22M/year for another 3, have Ridley under contract for another 2, and have a young TE they really like with absolutely no issues in the passing game (3rd in pass yds/game). On offense, it's the running game (30th in rushing yards/game) that is terrible. I'd think they go OL or RB before WR on offense.

Then you when you look at defensive rankings. 20th yds/game, 24th in YPP, and 23rd in pts/game. Probably use some draft capital there as well. Just don't see it likely that a 7 win team uses the necessary pick to get a 3rd WR who might be the 4th or 5th option on the team.

Looking at that, I'd be surprised if they went that route.
