Was there anything about him possibly not coming back? Was he going to transfer? He'll be a junior next year so isn't eligible for the draft. I haven't been as keyed in lately so didn't know if there was any transfer talk that I may have missed.

There was nothing out there that hinted at him not returning. A few of us were speculating in various threads about the guys who might leave based on depth chart position and their class. Morgan fits a potential transfer being a soph and his reported place on the D-C. He's a SS/Rover/potential Buck and came in before Elko/Lea showed up. Possible he didn't fit into their plans and he could leave and still have 2 to play after a transfer year.

good for him. Get the degree and hopefully he can leverage the next two years at a strong school for a graduate degree while playing a game he clearly loves. Best of luck.

What’s the Scholarship count at now?

We're at 88 not counting Foskey and/or Turner. Since I think Foskey is basically a done deal, let's call it 89 ;)

Big congratulations to DJ for getting that degree. Hopefully great things to come for this young man.

Good Luck DJ! Thank you for all your hard work on the field and in the classroom.

This is absolutely a great story for kids that don't make the starting line up. Work hard and get your degree. Now you're set for life and can go ball for two more years and get a grad degree.

*Shameless Plug* He’d fit great at UC, based on the way Fickell recruits and plays S/LB tweeners.

D.J. is the living embodiment of the 40-year decision. If he never plays a down of football again, he has earned a ND degree that will continue to benefit him for many years to come. If he finds a football home for the next two years and is able to fulfill his desire to play college football, his ND degree will be waiting when he's ready to enter the world of work. He wins both ways. I wish him success.
