I have respect for him and hope he does well in the future, but there is no way he would start over Tate Martell at Ohio State.

Just looked at the scholarship situation for the top 20 teams in the 247 Team Talent rankings. Selfishly, I'd love for Wimbush to go to Vandy where my dad went to school, but I know realistically that he's probably going to go to a school where he can do a lot of winning along with starting. I'm curious what everyone thinks the move should be for him to have the best shot at winning a bunch and starting for a Power 5 team.

I think he's better off going to a solid MAC program and killing it at that level.

If that's the case then he could just transfer to a d3 school and set records next season. I think he's going to go to a Power 5 school. The question is what level of school he can go to where he can guarantee himself a starting job. He could come in and start tomorrow at Vanderbilt. They are replacing Kyle Shurmur as their starter and just signed the Ball State QB Riley Neal for next year. Wimbush is better than Neal and could start for them tomorrow if need be. I think he'll go to a Power 5 program.

Wherever Wimbush goes, it should be somewhere he's clearly going to be QB1, and he should be there in time for spring ball.
That's where Zaire messed up, IMO, by going to a blue-chip, but also waiting until summer and working behind someone who knows the system and has already established himself. In this day and age, I think knowing you'll get the snaps at QB is more important, for your NFL prospects, than where those snaps take place.

Isn’t Purdue’s QB graduating? Team him up with Moore and Brohm would have a dangerous duo.

Wasn’t Brandon a PSU commit before he flipped to ND? And McSorley is going pro/out of eligibility correct?

I agree with the snaps if he likes to ball and wants another degree....NFL prospects not gonna happen.

Love BW. Like stnd01 said, the 2 most important things are going somewhere that he will be unquestioned QB1, and he gets there for spring ball.

I think thirdly, it's important that he goes somewhere with a system that fits. Needs to be run heavy, and not reliant on the short throws. NFL is not going to happen IMO for him at QB unless he all of sudden learns short and intermediately accuracy and timing. IMO he needs to stick with what he does well, and find a system and depth chart that fits.

OSU IMO is a horrible match. Assuming he's made his mind up to leave, I hope BK, Chip, and Reesus are giving him honest/blunt advice, and going all out to help him pick a good match. GT would be an interesting spot. New coach, changing systems, no QB1. He could absolutely be a gateway QB, and would be awesome helping them transition.

My heart though wishes he would stay and switch positions. He's not a NFL QB, but he has NFL baller heart. If BK wasn't just coachspeaking, he might have the talent to do other things.

Did BW finish up his degree this past semester or does he need one more semester to graduate? That will play a big part in this. He wants that ND degree and that may keep him from being a participant in some team's spring practices.

Wimbush is graduating after 3 1/2 years with an accounting degree. He finished up finals 12/14. He’ll get his diploma sometime in the next two weeks and then he’s free to transfer anywhere for spring ball. It’s gonna be a quick turnaround from ND football playoff games to a new school but I’m sure he’ll make it work cause being there for spring ball is hugely important.

That will be a crazy weekend for BW (and any other grad transfers). When ND goes to the NC game on the 7th, he'll already be an accepted and registered student at his next stop and could start classes as soon as the next day.

Thanks. Good for him. It definitely gives him some options.

I'm actually excited for Brandon. I hope he chooses a school I can root for, or at minimum, not loathe.

Graduating in 3.5 years with an accounting degree while being a huge part of the football team = He better receive the "ND man" monicker.

He didn't cause problems when he lost his starting position, he stepped back in and led us to victory against FSU. He's given us some incredible football the last two seasons.

Was thinking the same thing. His play reminded me of a more talented McSorely too and I think he would fit in really well in that offense.
