In a recent interview with Anna, he makes it sound like he will be playing on the d-line in college

What are the chances that JT has the body to make an impact in the middle of the defense next season?

I think he'll be in the mix from the start. Dude is a straight up monster. Like someone's said already, practically Jarron Jones with better technique and aggression from the start.

Just curious: does the Tillery switch mean we will bring in another OL this recruiting cycle or are we done?

Hmm. I might rather have him at OT. Having an athletic T can do wonders for the offense (see Zach Martin).

While he was good on defense, it wasn't his primary position. Would he be ranked as highly as a DT than an OT? If so, then DT is more an area of need...

Don't see it. At all. As it was said earlier, tell him whatever he wants to hear.

I disagree. That's what the Moras/Meyers/Kiffins of this world do. This kid has been open, honest, and team-first....we should return that in kind. Tell him the truth: he will play at the position the team needs him most. If he is better able to help the team on D, then so be it. He played on the d-line with great aplomb for much of this season by all accounts.

If his impact is similar at either position I would rather have him at DL. We traditionally have a more difficult time recruiting there than OL.

That's adorable.

Ok jackass, then tell him exactly what he wants to hear:

"Ultimately, I just want to play early so whatever position I'm needed at the most is fine with me"

-JT 12-1-14

hmm....weird....sounds familiar....

I think it's a lot like the Arik Armstead thing at Oregon. Probably better for the team and early playing time to be a DL. Better for his NFL future if he plays LT. I'm all for the switch if it helps us and he's happy.

Whatever he and the staff agree upon is fine with me.

Offensive linemen aren't a need for this team right now. If the LSU performance is a preview for next year, then I really want Tillery on the defensive side of the ball. We should have a good o-line next year with depth to back it up.

The d-line is whole different story for Notre Dame. Between Day, Jones, Cage, and Mokwuah, someone is bound to get hurt. Having someone like Tillery there to back them up will be comforting.

Put Tillery on the d-line and let the other stud o-linemen pave the way for Zaire and Folston

A quick google search didn't yield any results for senior highlights, but I found Evangel Christian Academy's hudl page. They don't have a lot of film posted from this season, but there is a 7-min highlight of their Nov 19 game vs. St. Paul.

What's interesting is they move Tillery (#76) all over the line. He played almost every position on the OL in the same game and played NT on defense. Honestly, I like his defensive film better than offensive in this short sampling. He has the talent to play either at ND. Check out the first play in this highlight!

If he's indeed equally suited to play either (I've no idea if that's the case), it's kind of a no-brainer isn't it? He'll play more and sooner on D, and we need him there more.
