I'll eat my crow and apologize for what I said. I'm shocked Miles ran a 4.42 SHOCKED, he was not that fast this fall and everyone watching the games no's that as well. So happy for Miles and sorry I acted like an asshole

I am also shocked that he ran a 4.42. Anything in the 4.5s would've been successful for him IMO. I don't know if that'll jump him up into 2-3 round range, but who knows.
I am also shocked. But now that I think on it, it’s pretty hard to remember Boykin getting a route to show it off. I went and looked back at that go ahead touchdown in the Pitt game and after he gets past he’s adjusting to the ball rather than going 100%.
Come on man, if he was actually this fast we would have seen flashes of it. It didn't just get hidden over the course of an entire season because of his routes. It's great that he ran a 4.42, but that speed is not translated to football speed unless he was seriously holding something back from us...

Wow absolutely awesome. He solidified a day two selection easy and who knows if someone falls in love with him maybe later first. He's been super productive over the past few years so these aren't just some dude going combine crazy
Saying super productive over the last few years is a stretch. He’s had one productive season and not even this year would be super productive relative to other ND wr’s on recent past.
His route running, contested catch ability, YAC, separation speed, and leaping ability are demonstrated in his reception against LSU. He is a mismatch, provides a big target in the red zone, and has demonstrated blocking ability.

We can't Monday morning quarterback who should've been offered based off of combine results or even how they performed in college. Brian Kelly isn't the only one that missed out on Fant; Fant's offer list was honestly piss poor.
The reason I was surprised Boykin ran that fast of a 40 was because he didn't seem that fast on the field. But combine monsters are no guarantee to be a success in the NFL. Remember Obi Melifonwu, the guy from UCONN who absolutely tore up the combine a few years back? Yeah, I haven't heard his name since he got drafted in the first round.
True but speed was the only missing piece for Boykin. We know he has great hands, height etc. The other thing this leap in measurable shows is his trainability and application/attitude. It could blow the NFL recruiters minds.
i would love to see someone ask BK and Balis "was he that fast and we didn't use him correctly, or was he slower and it took another trainer to realize his potential".

I do remember Kelly at some point this season saying Boykin has long speed, but also short area quickness. So Kelly definitely knew. Again I think it was the offense structure and QB issues for the reason we didn’t see many long balls for Boykins.
