idk who said he's better than Kyle Rudolph, however, i think he's as comparable as it gets and on film on think he could be faster than Rudy....don't forget Kyle wasn't exactly a burner.

I can see calling a poor man's Kyle Rudolph. That's still a hell of a tight end.

After reading the ISD story, I'll be absolutely floored if he isn't Irish by the summer. Lock city, IMO.

There are a lot of big name, blue blood schools to be afraid of but I just don't see how we manage to blow this.

I agree. Similar story on Rivals. quoted him saying, "I would be lying if I said I didn't love Notre Dame, because I do."

Random but if his age is correct on 247 he'd come in 19-20 yrs old as a freshman. Physically that could be a big plus too

I wonder if he qualified for a post grad year...Avon is a prep school that allows a handful of post grads every year.

Lock it up. Does Coach Kelly still take Boykin from Illinois?

TJ on II said yes. Boykin will probably be more a massive WR than a TE offer anyway.

Which is still really good to me. We could probably take a big body, a slot, and a play maker this class. Really getting excited for the possibilities early, even if it is just me drinking the green kool-aid.

You're much more optimistic in 2014. I dig it!

If he transferred in from Bosco (as someone posted above) he may well have repeated his sophomore or maybe junior year. Fairly common for private school athletic transfers.
Only cautionary note on that film is that he plays not-so-great competition. Very few top-tier players come out of the New England prep school world. But that offer list and his physical traits are pretty damn impressive. And if he wants to be here...

You don't have to read between the lines. He wants to be Irish.

50,000 dollars for boarding school? That cant be right, can it?

No as someone who lives in New England, I can assure you that it is correct unfortunately.

And as others have posted, competition has got to be a concern. He's got the measurables for sure, but these boarding schools recruit for hockey, lacrosse, and basketball, not for football. A lot of those kids who are there for other sports shy away from football for injury reasons, so its not like there's a lot of athletes flying around. I went to a boarding school that was considering a strong football school, and I don't think we had a kid over 225 pounds for all four of my years there. We had about 2-3 kids a year go on to play D-3, and like I said, we were considered to be a good football school for New England boarding schools. I'd like to see how he does in camps this summer for sure.

Matt Hasselbeck and Pat Kerney good examples of New England private school kids who had successful NFL careers

Quick & Brian Leetch too. Avon has 2 Conn Smythe winners to their name.

Definitely a hockey & lacrosse school, like most of the big NE prep schools. Kind of a creepy 18th Century/witchcraft-ish feel to their campus with so many brick and wooden buildings amongst many trees. Of course, visiting during Thanksgiving like I did 3 straight years didn't help that spooky feeling.

I want this kid to be Irish, I asked my friend who lives in Avon if he's heard of him no such luck though.

New England private school (and Boston-area Catholic) leagues are probably the best high school hockey in the country outside of Minnesota. Football, not so much. But, yes, they do occasionally produce big-time players and this guy certainly looks the part.
