That catch and run was sweet. A lot of the reports I've read are really high on him.

Kizer looked shaky in the pocket, but he's learning a brand new system and he was protected by a mix of 2nd and 3rd (both OTs) string O Linemen. His athleticism made several plays that show how high his ceiling can be in the offense.

I forgot that Brett Hundley was w/ the Packers. Does that mean Kizer is 3rd string going forward?

just from the little reading i have seen regarding the packers it looks like kizer is seizing the 2nd string

Correct. Although Hundley "outplayed" him slightly last night, you could chalk that up to more experience in the system. Kizer has the higher ceiling, and they paid a hefty price to acquire him. I don't see him getting cut.

I saw where the Packers traded Hundley to the Seahawks so Kizer is now QB2

EDIT: sorry, I just saw that noted in Kizer’s profile.

Yes sir, he did enough to earn the job. They probably like his ceiling more than Hundley's experience at this point.

Tha being said, Hundley really *ucked himself last year with his poor play when Rodgers went down, it probably wasn't going to take much for them to give Kizer the keys to the #2 position.

writing was on the wall for Hundley as soon as the Kizer trade was made tbf

I agree. There was initial speculation that they simply got rid of a cancer in Randall, and wanted to bring him in to manufacture "competition" for the backup, but I think most who follow the GBP knew he would be the #2. Way more upside than Hundley. Stronger arm and more arm talent overall IMO; just needs to learn and grow between the ears.

He'll have that opportunity behind #12.

Anyone else curious how this cat would have done with Ian?

It would have been very different. People can bag all they want on ESB, but we're seeing now how an accurate QB can make it so much easier for WRs to perform. Also, ESB went from almost 1000 yards in 2016 with DK, to around 500 with BW in 2017. That's not all on ESB due to attitude or effort...

It's simple, and it's logical... It's hard developing you're WRs and TE when you have a QB that struggles with accuracy. And it's easier to attracts recruits when you can toss it around the playground.

Having a 65% or better QB hasn't happened since Reesus's 2011, some very good years for our WRs

Tough little $hit with more heart than talent. Definitely a ND Man, and underrated by far too many.

Wake me up when ESB wins a 50/50 ball. Hell, wake me up when he shows he can make consistent catches in any kind of tight coverage at the NFL level. He has always been big, always been able to run... in his 3 total NFL catches he has not shown anything yet to say he has improved on the things he is bad at.

One can argue he caught 50/50 balls just fine in 2016, and was on his way to improving. In 2017, he had a QB that was inaccurate, and relied too much on 50/50 balls. For the record, I'm fine with a few 50/50 balls per game, but it should not be over relied on. And it was last year.

Here's ESB's highlights from 2016 with DK. There's two or three 50/50 highlights and tight coverage, and there's several plays where he's showing a ton of effort after the catch. And, there's several showing him get the ball in stride, which rarely happened last year for obvious reasons.

Do I like his attitude. No. Did I like pops being a helicopter parent. No. Do I like that he left. No. But I do understand why he left, and probably would have done the same given the QB he thought he'd be returning to, and the likelihood his draft stock wouldn't get any better given that same QB issue.

Just had a nice clutch catch for the Packers

That catch was huge on the game winning drive. I was there at the game, and on my way back home yesterday, Rodgers was on Sirius NFL Radio yesterday morning and he actually gave EQ mad props for the grab.

Said something to the tune of "the young guys played really well. I remember the young guy, EQ, making a great catch on the last drive...didn't realize how good of a catch it was until I watched the film back."

Hope he can continue to build on the momentum with the WR injuries. Valdes-Scantling is absolutely balling out for the Pack right now though with Cobb and Allison out. He's definitely WR4.
