Hopkins from the Oregon board,

"Once again, I'll remind all of you, Oregon could lose Barnett to Alabama, keep things in perspective, I guarantee you there is more to this than everyone knows right now and Oregon will be just fine at QB."

Not sure what that means but it sounds like he's hitting up the bank as we speak, haha.

If Blake goes to Bama, I switch my vote for 'most likely to get banned' to Tommy.

Far too much sensitivitiy over this one, lol.

Nah... best case scenerio is Barnett to Bama and Waller to ND. Let Hopkins and Oregon suck on that for a while.

Besides, I don't get real excited about QB commits for Bama. We haven't exactly had a good track record there. Now... Eason - he could change my level of excitement pretty quickly.

Been there... done that. Actually it was Bishop that went but why split hairs?

I've thought this entire time it would be worth not taking a QB in an effort to start, already, going all out for Eason.

Would be great if that worked out however I think Oregon quickly becomes an option for Waller if Barnett rolls with the Tide, which I actually hope he does just to piss Oregon off

ISD mods were just saying the same thing. If we don't get a top tier guy in '15, we won't be forcing the issue and will look to add a preferred walk on + all in on '16.

Agree. I would rather have Eason next year than either Barnett or Waller this year. One would think a Barnett commitment would maybe change Eason's thinking a bit if he is really serious about Bama. Who knows... maybe that's ND's ticket to get him. And if anybody else lands Eason, I would just as soon it be you guys. Not for fear of having to play against him... I love our setup at D Line for the future, but moreso out of the fact that you guys are pretty cool and I kinda like the Irish a little.

would be funny as hell if Barnett ended up at a rival Pac12 school and hammered Oregon for a few years

I read that as Oregon will make a move on Travis Waller... who has already visited and has a longstanding relationship with those coaches. This is why I said pages ago I wanted Blake at Oregon because I'm much more comfortable battling Bama for someone like Waller than Oregon. There are about 500 legitimate reasons why someone in Waller's shoes should select ND over Bama, but you lose a lot of those in Oregon vs. ND.

Justin Hopkins:

Currently a return visit to Oregon is scheduled for tomorrow morning. Barnett is expected to bring his mother and father on the visit. Our latest sources suggest that visit is in serious jeopardy.

In fact, we are also hearing a commitment to Alabama could take place by the end of the day. However neither is a certainty

Hopkins is like the gift that just keeps giving.

JHOP just released another update that states a commitment may happen today for Barnett to Bama and the visit to Oregon is in serious jeopardy. He says if Barnett makes a decision today that he wont take the trip to Oregon however he isn't ready to move his CB just yet because of all the "moving parts"

Looks like he is conceding a bit that Barnett may very well end up in Bama

He is quite impressionable isn't he?

I could probably sell him piece of poop and stick a peanut into it and told him it was a snickers

So the bigger question is how quickly does Oregon move on Waller, and how screwed are we if/when that happens? A little bit screwed, or royally screwed?

Just a little bit IMO. I'm all for Waller, but like others have said we could just take a walk-on or lower rated QB this cycle and go all in for Eason, Henry, and Pass.

Barnett worked closely with Bleacher Report through the last couple of weeks apparently:
