Wimbush feeling great.
Am I the only one that hopes he comes back and we still have 2 years of Wimbush?

No way Wimbush stays if Kizer comes back. Ugh

Wimbush won't leave. He'd have to sit out a year if he did and as I said before, Wimbush would pretty much be guaranteed the start in 18. From what I understand Wimbush is a very high character kid and loves ND. Lots of talented QB's end up having to wait till there SR year to get their start. Some don't ever get the start. That's college football.
That's cool you think that bro. But when you have the talent he does he isn't going to sit and watch.
If Kizer comes back in '17, Wimbush wins the National Championship in '18. You heard it here first.
Nope. You're not.
Wimbush looks great on paper and limited garbage time, but honestly who knows. I don't know why you wouldn't want a super-talented two-year starter back.
So, apparently at the banquet BK just announced captains for next year. Including Kizer. Hmmm...
Agreed. Problem is The only time Kelly has not out too much on the QB is when he had a first-time starter like in 2012 & 2015. Those two years, ND would win in the trenches as they established a run game to allow Golson or Kizer to be more successful passing the ball.
Lou Somogyi asked Kelly why the offense was more successful with first-time starters at QB. He actually answered honestly by admitting that an inexperienced QB forces him to go back to the tenets of football. Once the QB is experienced, he proceeds to pile the entire offense on the kid's shoulders (see 2014 & 2016) and regresses to his "Passing Tourette's" and the entire offense suffers.

NOTHING would make me happier than this. Sadly, the only team I see having a chance to beat Alabama in the NC over the next 2-3 years would be Ohio State. I'm not saying it isn't possible though. Fu&$ing LOVE your attitude though.
Oops. Sorry, I didn't finish. If Kizer comes back next year, Wimbush goes to OSU, sits out '17 and takes over for Barrett in '18 and wins the Championship. Book it.
It was gonna be Bama to be with his boy Fitzpatrick but Hurt's got that tied down good enough and OSU will need him.
So Kizer is widely expected to be a 2nd round guy this year if he comes out, and a likely 1st rounder next year. And there's a debate on here if he would start at ND? People are ready to move on from him? Some of you have lost your mind.

Dude you realize if he transfers he still has to sit a year and watch. So what does he gain?
I am well aware of the transfer rule. He then also has an incredible 5 star breathing down his neck.
Why are you all anointing Wimbush as the next great ND QB? I understand that people tend to have hype and excitement for the unknown commodity, but he hasnt played many snaps outside of the UMASS game. After the UVA game, many on here claimed Kizer to be the next great QB. After Zaire won the Music City Bowl, the same thing happened.
Just ease off the Wimbush hype train. Believe in the hype when it's warranted.
Trivia question....
name the last Irish QB that hasn't been hyped.
In all seriousness, DK would drive me nuts watching him. Make a pro style throw one play ala Dan Marino and the next play throw a simple ten yard pass in the flat two yards short in the dirt. But he did give ND the best chance to win IMO. And to a coach, that's where it is at. Maybe when Wimbush gets his chance he will be lights out. Maybe he won't. But right now... between him and DK... if I am the coach I have to go with the one that I think can win me games. And that's DK. If he does come back and the season starts 2-4 then pull him and let Wimbush have at it. That's the only option BK has at keeping his job. Showcase the future and try to convince the powers to be he has the team set up "next season." Side note - don't think it would matter for BK in the end if he loses four games at any point next season.. Just how I could see his mind playing all of it out.
Reason #1 why he should go to the league. He should go even if gets a 2nd round eval from the NFL. Opportunity cost is too high to stick around in a situation with a Wimbush behind you and a Coach treading in shark infested water making the calls.
BTW, just imagine how good DK would have been at Bama.
Can agree with that on DK. My two concerns with DK at the next level is his inconsistent accuracy and he does take a bit longer to release the ball. Both of these are pretty serious issues and usually spell trouble for an NFL QB. But with some good coaching and tweaks to mechanics, footwork, etc., who knows. DK could make it given the right fit.
