Holley took a OV to PSU this weekend BTW. Had to have come away impressed.

I'm sure he was. I had plans to be in the student section but I had a cross country meet so I had to stay home. All of my friends are still saying it was the greatest experience they've ever had so far at penn st. At least Holley didn't go to the kent state game where we all were submerged in that ridiculous downpour right at kickoff

imo penn st has some bright days ahead of them as long as O'Brien stays there.

The Penn State enthusiastic support for their team was electrifying, and it made the night special. Stopped switching channels, and watched the entire game. A fan base that can actually shake down the thunder from the sky. Two words come to mind - expiate and catharsis.

Speaking of shaking, when I was little I had tickets in the second to last row in the upper deck..almost as high up as you could possibly be at beaver stadium. We played northwestern which wasn't a huge game but the place is so loud and nuts that we could see and feel the walls shaking. It was awesome. The only better experience ive had is being in the student section itself. Notre dame is not even in the same ballpark as psu in terms of the actual game experience. Although I will say I like the nd gameday experience better than psu.

Not in any hurry to visit, going to OSU this weekend then really wants to get to UF. No mention of ND.

Per 247, OSU and PSU battle really at this point. We are likely fourth or fifth and I am personally doubting he will ever visit again.

All in on Elam?

It's not like we have any other stud nose tackles on the hook.
On paper, though, Holley always seemed like the easier one of those two to land. Can't figure why he's not more interested.

According to TJ we've been recruiting him exactly how they requested. Really interested to know if this is us dropping the ball or his lack of interest in ND.

After working in college athletics for 3 years and following Notre Dame recruiting for 10 years I have learned that sometimes it just isn't a good fit. Usually due to size and location of the school.

penn st in the lead would be my guess

is that accurate?

Based on his comments after his PSU and OSU visits, combined with everything I thought before his visits, I'd say that's accurate. It's hard to believe we wouldn't get another look though. That's very surprising to me. I'm still holding out hope he visits for Navy or delays his decision and comes for BYU with Hayes and Trumbetti.

That would be ideal. On campus with a couple commits, plus the staff can focus on him more individually as opposed to this past weekend where there is no way he could have gotten the attention he would have needed.

This has been trending away for awhile. I expect PSU to win out.
