Might be a dumb question, but if you had to pick between Martin and Nelson, who do you take?

Nelson by a wide margin. Martin is all pro having an average year. I think Nelson is Joe Thomas good!

An average year, where he hasn't given up a sack, is grading out as the 2nd best guard, and has given up just 3 pressures.

Average...

And Mustipher right next to him killing his block too. Awesome clip.

Really? Martin may be the best OL in all of football (Guards, Centers, and Tackles included), and at the worst, is regarded as a Top 4 lineman. Let's at least wait for Nelson to be on an NFL roster, let alone start on a team and be an All-Pro at least once.

I sure hope Irishman77 is talking about each in their 3rd season in college because if ZMart could suit up and play RG for the Irish on Saturday, Tommy Kraemer is an instant All American and ND would only run to the left on trick plays.

ZMart is THE best OLineman I've ever seen. His punch-and-re-set is supernatural. Watching Dallas, sometimes the opponents stunt their blitzing AWAY from him and he has no one to block, and then just doubleteams.

Q is good... a REAL good COLLEGE player. Q over ZMart by a large margin? GAWD. ... effective troll comment I guess.

Martin is an All Pro and Nelson is a future All Pro. Take your pick and be happy with either.

I would say Martin, because he has position flexibility and could easily step out to RT.

But Nelson is the most dominant college OL I have seen since Orlando Pace.

My favorite sequence of the NCSt game:

1. Play end with NCSt LB #4 talking smack to Macintosh after the play. Nelson walks back to the huddle.

2. Next play, Nelson pulls, gets on #4, then ends the play by driving him into the ground. #4 looks up at Nelson, Nelson helps him up and pats him on his shoulder.

Also, watch Bars on this play; this is exactly what I was talking about. His DL swims him, and Bars ends up on the ground.

I love both of them. It’s just my opinion. No need to attack. I wouldn’t call someone a troll for saying zack Martin is better than everyone you ever seen. That’s a pretty hot take too ...Plenty of greats have played this game. Geesh...super sensitive our we? Go Irish!

I took it as he called out a troll comment (agreed) but not that he is a troll. I also take people who respond and clog up threads with push back, bitches. Can you please not be a bitch about this and whine? Thanks

N. Martin

In the Hiestand era IMO. All ranking as potential to be All-Pro at their respective positions at some point in their career.

Oh shit. And they all could've gone pro within 4 years. That's insane.

Why clog up a thread to attack another poster? Doesn’t this defeat your gripe? Why is answering a question on this thread of who is better being a troll or a bitch?

Yikes!

Btw I am a huge cowboys fan and have seen almost every snap Martin has played and love him! Grateful to see such an amazing player play for my two favorite teams.

Seriously. I felt I was insulting Nick Martin making this list and having him theoretically at the bottom. Dude is a badass at center for the Texans already.

Watch that clip and see how Q keeps the spacing on his legs wide enough to keep leverage while driving his guy back. Bars looks like he didn't get his arms on his guy quick enough, thus the swim and fall.

Haven't seen this posted yet but a great article from Mike Vorel on Quenton.

He should be in serious consideration for the Heisman. He brings it every game on every play and his highlights are as impressive as anyone at any position in college football in my opinion.
