Aldon Smith too.
His name is going to give dshans an aneurysm.
Watch his Junior Film and then watch his Senior Film. Then you have your answer as to why he was offered now, and why they offered.

I think the competition got worse from his junior to senior year.
However, there is no denying his athletic ability.
Siiiiiigh still kills me. He's like a super sized version of Tranquill.
Don't like the offer. Staff is swining everywhere right now. But let's not offer Sam Hubbard?
I grew up in the town next to Berrien Springs (the better town) and can assure you that his competition (and own team for that matter) is bottom of the barrel. Most, if not all, of the teams in their division don't even have cuts or tryouts. These are small, rural towns in SW Michigan.
Cowtippers.
Per Wiltfong it seems as though the offer came as a shock to Williams. When asked if he would check out ND and if being close to home was important, he said he wasn't sure to both. He has yet to talk with an ND coach or staff member. Also said that he hasn't had time to let it sync in yet.
So how did he get the offer, letter in the mail?
Where did you go to high? Niles? Dowagiac? I went to Lawton. Oh and you are correct with he talent being pretty crap!

Mizzou coaches visiting him today, probably trying to quell the flames
According to II, he was offered by Michigan or they were at least close to offering and he said that he wasn't interested.
What I find interesting is that Mizzou, despite having 27 commits, immediately got on a plane to talk to him after the ND offer.
Don't know what that says... but it says something.

Jhonny Williams: I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Michigan has offered him by the time I post this. The 2014 DE out of Berrien Springs (MI) was offered by Notre Dame the other night and is currently committed to Missouri. They can get him on campus with an offer. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at the Ohio State game in a few weeks
