Interesting...He's a gourmet 4 star recruit who also had an offer from Tennessee. Looks like he run track too. Hmm
I wonder who else isn't playing football at ND this year cause 1 or 2 must be leaving it are no longer on the team? They wouldn't have taken a transfer otherwise

Anything more on the rumors about Stepherson? Don't ask me for details because I have nothing except some people suggested some things might be going on with him (maybe/maybe not related to the car incident). That was a couple months ago I think?
According to ISD, no. Nothing to do with Stepherson.

According to 18Stripes ND is at 85 but I have them at 86. It appears they are not counting Finke - calling him a "1 year scholarship candidate".
No way Finke is not on scholarship next year so they are at 86. Someone is leaving or they expect attrition. I know, shocking.
They include MVG who I believe is done playing football.
If you don't mind me asking... Source? I keep making jokes about MVG going on a medical and never get corrected.
he didnt play last year at UM right? Retired due to shoulder injury?
Give me a few minutes to find it. I definitely saw something official.
Wouldn't be the first time. How many times was McGovern rumored to have retired?OK, so I know I saw something on MVG possibly being done. However, he is on all 3 rosters I have seen recently. Maybe they were rumors that didn't play out or haven't played out yet.
So when scUM sh!tcannes a recruit on the front end it's called getting Swensoned but when they sh!tcan a current player on the back end it's getting Canteened.
Got it.

Colin McGovern's college football career will continue, just not at Notre Dame.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound senior guard will make a graduate transfer to Virginia for his fifth and final season in 2017, McGovern confirmed to the Tribune on Tuesday.
A native of New Lenox, Ill., McGovern started eight games at right guard for the Irish in 2016. He appeared in 21 games in his four-year Notre Dame career.
McGovern will find a familiar face when he sets down in Charlottesville, Va. Former Notre Dame offensive lineman John Montelus also previously announced that he'll transfer to Virginia for his fifth and final season.

They're talking about Monty. Son of the Stache. The Colossus of Clipboard.MCG was the source. He told SBT himself. It was reported two weeks ago that he's taking a graduate transfer UVA. Check his profile.

ISD took CMG off their depth chart
Notre Dame Football Depth Chart | Irish Sports Daily
As for Canteen, the former four-star recruit from Wilmington, Delaware, has made 6 catches for 22 yards and a touchdown in 16 appearances at Michigan. He also played some cornerback for the Wolverines last season, but only appeared in game action (five games) as a receiver).

2014 Recruiting: Freddy Canteen | mgoblog
A very good breakdown from MGoBlog of him as a recruit. Worth noting that the sham school ECA produced a lot of busts, including Kenny Bigelow at USC. The fact that he was pushed out of the program by Harbaugh should be troubling to everyone, but we absolutely needed another body at WR even if just for practice. It's also important to note that after some rave offseason reviews as a true frosh and limited contribution on the field, he bounced around between WR and CB as a soph before getting kicked out of the program for having shoulder surgery. It remains to be seen which position he may factor in at, because we need bodies at both.
He has the athletic traits to be a good roster add if he's healthy, so no way to look at this as anything but a positive.
Yep.
Where is our resident SCUM lover Tom. Would like an honest evaluation of this kid from him. Would also like to know if this kid got a raw deal...

What I'd be most interested to know is what happened during the 2015 season and what people's opinions were. If I remember correctly, Michigan's 2 WR offense meant that basically no one but Chesson and Darboh got PT. Where was Canteen on the depth chart during that and why?
As a true frosh, he was likewise right behind those guys on the depth chart and played more total snaps... so I'm wondering if his disappearance was based on injury, falling out of favor, scheme, or talent... or a combination of all four.
As a freshman, the situation is explicable. Will Fuller had a similar number of targets/catches as a true frosh behind more experienced guys. I want to know why he was pushed to the side and then out after Harbaugh took over. Hopefully the reason isn't "he sucks" but that'd be the most simple and logical.
