I think Nic might be the player that most benefits in this new offense. We've heard the past 2-3 years how impressive he's looked in practice. Great to see him finally involved in the passing game and making plays.

I tried to tell you guys. 3 star is 3 star.

Still has no hands, right? Who made this first catch with a guy draped around him?

For as long as you've been banging on the Longo drum, I've said for some time we needed to drop Booker. Along with replacing Booker, Long certainly showed today that he wants to get our TEs involved again. 7 of Wimbush's 17 completions went to TEs, and that's more than half the number of TE catches we had all of last year.

I'm not ready to crown him the next Rudolph but that catch was awesome. Great play by Weishar.

How great was it the team was so excited for him? I text his brother after it and he said the family was jacked and expect more this year!

Wasnt he the one that had the impressive receiving stats coming out of high school?

Yes he caught everything in high school and was a very good basketball player as well

Does he still hold the state record for receptions? He and Flynn Nagel from Northwestern were #1 and #2 and played on the same team for a couple of years. That's amazing, what's more amazing is their QB wasn't the all time passer in Illinois history.

While we're talking about Illinois WR records, Jordan Westercamp was/most likely still is the all time passing yardage record holder. Has like 1000 more yards than anyone. That was a kid I thought Nd should have gotten on. Played with a co-worker's kids at Montini.

Flynn Nagel left after his Jr year Nics senior. He was a stud too. The QB is a PWO at Ohio State or at least he was. It's funny you ask that question Nic is #1, Nagel #2 , Westerkamp #3 in IHSA history. Yes the kid can flat out catch. His bro said him and 7 have had a lot of time to build
Chemistry the last 2 years hope it pays off for him. Great kid from a spectacular family.

Announced he will be back for a 5th year kind of surprised due to us being tight on numbers it could mean a few things though.
A. Is alize Mack not coming back

I wouldn't say that this necessarily means he is gonna cut into playing time, at least not yet.

1.) Kmet and Wright are probably gonna be getting a lot of playing time.

2.) Nic seems to be a really good teammate/person. If he is nice to have around the locker room, why not have him back? We never fill out our 85 scholarships anyway.

Mack is the wildcard: does he have academic issues again? If so, does that lead him to transfer or make him self eligible for the draft? Does he transfer for a fresh start somewhere else to get back on track? Time will tell, but the Staff wants him back. They just know they can’t be sure of that yet & they know Smythe is graduating so having Weishar in the event Mack doesn’t work out, is good insurance.

Personally, I believe Tremble will choose scUM.

I mean, he's never really been a force of nature. Not sure how that's surprising or even newsworthy. He was brought back based on ball skills, work ethic, leadership, and service.

He's shown flashes but I, like many on here, was pretty surprised that he decided to come back for a fifth year with this TE depth chart. Just don't see him making a huge impact this fall, regardless of the latest in fall camp. I feel like Kmet, Wright, and (HOPEFULLY) Mack will all be play-makers this year.
