wow weren't we the only school he guaranteed an official visit to at the Opening? I still feel like he might take an official to us

GT in the top six.... and not ND... I respect Gt, great program... but that almost seems like an intended slight... just me??

Top 6 of Georgia Tech, Clemson, Ole Miss, Auburn, FSU & Florida per Rivals.....

I've been rather negative about him and ND but even I didn't expect that

Good call.

I figured he would give us a good look with Rochell being here. The 4-3 is a nice objective argument to present to a friend, so I guess that makes sense. But I do agree that the personalities were way different.

It also explains the recent OLB/DE offers.

I believe that was right. But this kid seems torn between the football culture in the South and positive influences in his life (like Isaac Rochell). With some extra work by Booker I think we could get into that top 6. But he seems to go back and forth about what he wants (is very pro-ND one day and pro-ACC/SEC another).

At the end of the day, I think we'll be more in the mix than we are now but I don't see him leaving a one state radius.

All those schools play 4-3 defense. I think others have convinced 4-3 DE is his best fit.

I agree with the second part but UGA actually runs a 3-4 (unless they changed from last year), they are the home state team though so that's why I think your point still stands.

UGA isn't in his final 6 unless I'm missing something.

Wow I'm all over the place, UGA is in his Top 6. Auburn is not.

Don't know how I messed that up.

My two takeaways. 1. This shouldn't come as a surprise as this seems to have been trending this way for awhile. 2. I think this recruitment has a long way to go. I personally don't think he even has an idea of what he's looking for other than he enjoys the attention.

He isn't looking for attention. It just seems that he's really enjoying the recruiting process. He gets to visit a lot of schools, meet a bunch of great coaches and players, it's something many kids don't get to experience, so I think he's just enjoying the ride.

With the amount of attention we've shown Andrew I wouldn't be surprised if the staff cools on him for awhile. It seems to me that when we go after kids hard and they don't reciprocate the effort we'll take a step back and try and re-enter at a later date. This is something they seemed to do with Treadwell and Vanderdoes last year. Obviously that didn't turn out so well but something to keep in mind.

I mean we told the kid he was our #1 CAT prospect and he doesn't even put us in his top 6

From incessantly tweeting different fan bases to jumping in other recruits interviews he loves the attention. No big deal a lot of people do but its pretty obvious.

Overrated. Or rather, the services that have him ranked low are pretty accurate. He hasn't been all that impressive recently or at camps.

His older brother has a chance to be the starting DT for the Jackets. Also, it is only 30 minutes from home.

yeah, once we discussed the 4-3 angle also i guess it hit me...

it just seems odd to cut it to SIX and then not have ND in it after all this time...

Called this one a long time ago, even before the 3-4/4-3 thing came about. Just something about him and the way that he talked about other schools to other teams' reporters and didn't talk up ND, well, those kids just don't come here, especially from the South.

LOL, I argued this when people wrote that he was ours to lose, and I argued this when someone wrote that we were clearly his leader a few weeks back. I was even told my evidence was weak (evidence being quotes directly from Williams LOL) and that I was just plain wrong...and told that on the board and in PM.

My point is...I used to be wrong all the time in recruiting when it came to these types of guys. But then Omar Hunter happened (yeah, I went there) and Justin Trattou happened (yup, went there too) and Chris Martin happened, and I finally started to figure this thing out. Still wrong a ton, but with guys like this, the writing is on the wall.

As Jay-Z said...on to the next one.
