Difference is Sampson is more a professional journalist and not a fan like Mike Frank or some of the other mods at the different sites. Sampson is originally from Grand Rapids, MI and grew up as a MSU basketball fan actually. I am not sure if he is really a fan like the rest of the us.

Wiltfong brings a lot to the table in regards to recruiting coverage and is better in that area than Sampson and Rivals. Rivals is good at covering the team in general and has a more interactive message board. Recruiting news is more of 247's niche. They are both good. Wiltfong was only calling out what Pete said about a mod on 247 that called for Mckenzie to WVU. He might have gone too far but Wiltfong is the best in recruiting coverage.

I agree, Steve is the man in regards to recruiting.

In these cases, the difference between 99.9 and 100% is a lot more than .1!!!

The comment may have been unprofessional, BUT of course he had to mention Loy. If he's mentioning his old colleague then he'd mention his current one as well. And wiltfong does not reach for "inside scoops" that do not exist. Also, their job has nothing to do with the well being of our program.

Just saw this. Our recruiting guys absolutely have a connection to the well being of our program. Throwing false or bad info out about a recruit, presenting themselves or the school poorly, etc can all effect the image of the university and the program.

That's pinning your ears back. With Shembo's departure, it'll be very nice to have this kid.

Richard Yeargin III - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl mid season highlights. Kid can really move, his closing speed is really impressive.

University's last two games have been short on defensive highlights. Manatee wiped out a Suns twenty one point first quarter lead(Sean White aerial attack) with a persistent ground game performance. Controlling the ball in the second half, Manatee played smash mouth football, and won 28 - 24. Last Friday, in the rain, Miami Central's Dalvin Cook and Joseph Yearby provided the highlights, and ran for over 300 yards, again controlling the tempo of the game on the ground. Should University open the state playoffs with a win against Gulliver Prep, their next playoff opponent will be Booker T. Since their first game against Norcross, Georgia, Booker T has been one continual highlight film.

Talk about a difficult schedule. Manatee, Miami Central, and tonight Yeargin and University must face Booker T. and the best defensive line in high school football - Chad Thomas(Yeargin's counterpart at defensive end), Tevin Evans, Demetrius Jackson, and Josh Johnson. Under windy conditions, University's line must give Sean White time to throw the ball. Both teams are loaded with Division 1 prospects and difference makers.

ND has lost at least one commit every single year since I have paid attention, roughly 12 years or so... and most every year there is at least one defensive front seven guy that flips... just sayin.

Losing him would be awful. Can play multiple positions and he has 40 + offers. Might as well be a 5-star.

I was always skeptical of how committed he was when the rumors came out that he was looking and he had to tell every reporter he was 100% Irish. Really hope he sticks.

I dont see us losing him, we let kids take visits

I tend to cautiously agree, while we await further info.

The Clemson 247 update said that he has a former teammate and friend who is a frosh at Clemson right now. So that might be why he is visiting.

The fishy thing is that ND didn't know about this, per Wiltfong.

but he's "committed 100%." I hope people aren't shocked by this.

Yeah, honestly this guy was always at the top of my list in terms of flip potential. For starters, I was kind of shocked that we got someone from University School to begin with... they've in the past been linked with "questionable" grading/coursework to get players eligible for football factories in the south. And then there was always strange smoke out there, as much as I didn't buy the "flip to USC but they said no" thing.

Most of the guys we have committed would be in the very "low risk" flip category, but there are a couple dudes that we won tight races for that I always panic a little inside when their thread is bumped. He is one of them.

ah, love the sneaky visit. ND coaches' balls in a sling as usual, nature of recruiting.

I'll bet all the vBucks you want that if he visits he's 100% gone. No info, just gut feeling.

I mean, they're playing the Citadel. Not going to be a very exciting game IMO. Atmosphere won't be anything like Georgia/FSU game.
