I like him more as a MLB than Yeargin strictly because of his build. Yeargin just seems to lanky to be a MLB.

first, the wonder years are awesome.

Second, he seems like an athletic freak, but a project. He has never played linebacker at all.

Third, Yeargin, seems like he would be awesome at mlb. Again a project that would have taken a year or two.

Reminds me of a better version of Mike McCray (Michigan 2013 class)...Similar height/length, a little more filled out, not great top end speed but looks like a solid player overall.

Didn't he think that Vanderdoes and Redfield were going back to USC after they de-committed or am I remembering that wrong?

Honest question - does Scott ever think a prospect isn't USC's to lose?

Surprisingly yes. The issue is he relies on his "sources" a lot who are huge homers. He never really talked up USC's chances with Quick or Mixon but he has been adamant about Mama, JuJu, and Jaylen being Trojans though.

BSU, Oregon, USC, NW, and Vanderbilt in that order. Wants to play OLB. No mention of ND

That's the truth. We all see how much we miss Manti already.

Compare him to the guys Alabama recruits at ilb and then get back with me.

The high profile LBs that Alabama gets are often from Alabama.

Their highest LB recruits were Reuben Foster and Nico Johnson...you guessed it, they're from Alabama. And definitely not the type of kids who would come here.

If you're talking about talent. This kid is good. He's also a three to four star rated kid like a lot of the kids Bama takes. Odd...

To me an ilb needs to have instinct, its not all about athletism unlike olb. Look at Manti he wasnt the most athletic person on the team, that was all instinct coming from playing that position all throughout highschool. My point is we need to get kids who have been playing that position all there life, kinda like the qb of the defense. Just my opinon

Yea, but when I see this kid play, I see some great knowledge for someone who has only been playing for a few years. We can disagree on this, but based on what you said, you must really love Michael Deeb. And I'd agree with you there. Deeb will be a great backer for us.

Yeargin took his spot

I don't really understand this. It seems all of the reports were ND was recruiting Johnson to play ILB. Yeargin was recruited to play CAT, so how did he take his spot?

My take given the information in this thread is ND wanted him to play ILB, but he wants to play OLB. Easy to see why we wouldn't be considered in his top group any more.

Yes i do i think we would be better off having him and grace out there, i know it might be a strech with Deeb, but Grace should be getting the majority of reps out there and the other two spliting time.

I think Manti was an OLB in high school. Pretty sure, but too lazy to look it up, that all the recruiting services had him listed as an OLB as well. Don't think he played that position all his life -- just at ND.
