Would you like to do me a favor and explain the benefits that oversigning and greyshirting have for student athletes that elect to participate in the meat grinde... I mean "system"?[/QUOTE]

Sure, I can explain, it's Alabama where 30 + 29 + 28 + 32 = "85"! LMAO! Year in, year out, Alabama is one of the few teams in the country to lose double-digit players post NSD. Name another school that has lost the equivalent OF AN ENTIRE SCHOLARSHIP RECRUITING CLASS over the past 2 years? That's a lot of attrition at Alabama (30% of which were "medical hardships" scholarships which don't count towards the 85) between NSD & the August deadline to get to the 85 limit over the past 2 years, LMAO! But then again, that's how they "roll"

If you'd like, apparently you can set up a paypal and give 'TurningPoint' money for his 3rd party information.

This is what he said on Tuesday.

No that was just something I offered you since you question/make sarcastic comments about 90% of my posts. Offer still stands but only for Kuehnja. Everyone else does the mature thing and sends PM instead of going on the attack lol

Can you name the medical hardships between NSD and August? And can you name their injuries? Also, can you name the double digit losses they have every year post NSD - minus draft and graduation?

T Town- love what you've brought to this forum. You're going to lose this argument on a ND forum though.

If we are going to have this convo can we move to the oversigning forum MODs.

I wasn't on the attack. I was trying to save the myself and the other IE members from hours of speculation by respectfully asking what the new angle was that you mentioned. It's a discussion, not an attack.

When you refused to explain what you were talking about, I was confused as to why you'd say anything at all, so let's just leave it at thank you for letting us know you might know something we'd all like to know.

That's about all there is to say. Let's move on.

Agree. They can PM me all they want and we can discuss all things involved with our respective programs.

Didn't Bama sign a pact with the NCAA that they wouldn't over sign? Did the whole SEC have to do that or was it optional?

coming in late on conversation, but I will never question TP's info here. Others have tried and are no longer here. He has legit connections. His offerings are a true gift to us here.

The SEC mandated that oversigning stop due in large part to Ole Miss and Houston Nutt. This year Bama should sign 27 but two of those will be backdated to a previous class. As far as greyshirts... I don't really understand why people are oppossed to that. If the player wants to wait a year to get on the team then that's their choice. If they want to play now, go where they can.

I wasn't questioning his info. There was no info to question.

And I'm not pretending like he does not have a connection to people who are close to ND. I believe he does.

Again guys... if anyone wants to discuss oversigning, the ills of our respective programs, etc, simply shoot me a PM. This thread should be about a dam* fine rb that both our schools are recruiting.

Not to argue, but where the heck did you get those numbers? Bama hasn't signed that many players. We have to follow the same NCAA rules as everyone else and sign 25 per class (unless we have spots left over from the previous class) and keep our totals at 85 or fewer just like everyone else. I'd really like to see where you got that 30 + 29 + 28 + 32.

he wasn't exactly right but he wasn't too far off. per rivals,

2010: 26
2011: 22
2012: 26
2013: 25

For a grand total of 99. Losing 14 guys off the team in 4 years is a lot

Speaking of over signing, kudos to Bo if he's not afraid of playing time. Alabama has some monster recruits at RB that have a ton of eligibility left.

They truly are RBU IMO.

Schollie limit is 85, right?

Which ten of those guys isn't on scholarship currently?

Four are off the team due to the off-season aggravated assault and robbery.

So, which six of those guys isn't on scholarship currently?

Off the top of my head here are some

Shinn - transfer due to playing time

Ely - QB transfer no playing time

Gullage - medical hardship ended up going to Jax St (know him and his family personally and know exactly what his medical issues are ) he is playing for Jax St against better judgment IMO.

Decided to actually use my context clues and that chart is from February. That's plenty of time for the roster "fluctuation" to play out.

Danny Woodson transferred for playing time also.

So we are up to two medical hardships. That's a long way from 30% and probably a whole lot less than the majority of programs.

And Gullege... he and his family are personal friends of mine. I know exactly what his issues are.

Actually, i believe usa today or one of the other major national newspapers ran a story on how Alabama's medical hardship rate was preposterously high compared to the national average at some point in the last year or so. I'm sure it's back in the oversigning thread.

But if we're gonna have this discussion, let's not forget that over the last 4 years Bama's had 11 guys go to the draft in the first round alone. Methinks that might have something to do with signing more than 85 players over 4 years.

That report spotlighted players from 4 years or so ago I believe and before the oversigning issue was addressed by Mike Slive. Saban was as guilty as the rest for the practice, but even he can't get around Mike Slive anymore. And I give credit to Slive for having the balls to address it.
