Since the Coaches poll is so critical to BCS, and we've been 4th in it with Oregon playing a much harder schedule ahead of us that should boost its computer ratings, we've been on the outside looking in for a NC for a while now, even undefeated.

Regardless of the strength of this past win, we need two teams ahead of us to lose.

Oregon's late-season schedule will give it a bump in the BCS rankings. If Klein is hurt and 'Bama, Oregon, and ND all win out, I'd think that it's 'Bama/Oregon for the NC. I was saying to a buddy this weekend that the thing that ND hasn't done, and that others have, is blow teams away -- I think that either ESPN or NBC showed a graphic that gave ND's margin of victory over BCS teams at 14 points; the other teams were up in the 20's and 30's.

I'd love to see T'eo even get invited to NYC, which seems to be a foregone conclusion at this point. If he has a monster final few weeks, he's got a shot...especially if Klein is hurt. It's so early to think of things like this though -- imagine if he returns an INT for a TD to seal both a win over USC and an undefeated season? That'd be what's called a Heisman-defining moment....but it's so early to look ahead.

Beat BC, play tough D, don't turn the ball over -- and hope for some solid special teams play.

Not directed only at you but If Klein is hurt, who wins it now?

Te'o? Stock probably dropped after this week
McCarron? Didn't play very well in the 2nd half except the winning drive
Barkely? Probably out now
Geno Smith? Probably out now
Barner? Stock is rising
Braxton Miller?

Anyone else?

If there was ever a year for someone like Manti to be in serious contention, this is it. There are no typical Heisman-type offensive players this year.
