My projected 2017 Offense. - QB - Wimbush (Kizer goes pro, Zaire transfers) RB's - 1. Admas 2. Dex 3. TJ jr WR's - Z - EQ, Claypool. W - KJ, ?? Z - CJ. TE- Alize (will split out an also play some Z and also bunch with EQ/Claypool for matchup nightmares) then Weishar for inline )plus possibly Wright or Kmet if ready, which I think at least one will be)
OL - LT - McGlinchey LG - Nelson C - Mustipher RG - Hoge RT - Bars (Kraemer will be swing guy, will plug in at RG if Hoge falters).

* this is my best guess. I'm a little stumped at the W position, guessing that Hunter leaves. KJ is my best guess but I think it may be a platoon of young talented WR's there. Z is stacked with EQ and Chase not to mention Alize.

Thoughts?

We're not even halfway through the 2016 season yet. There's plenty of time ahead, to worry about 2017 lineup predictions.

So will Hunter go to Bama and chase a title or will he go back to Texas and head to College Station or Austin?

I think he'll graduate and try his hand at baseball. He (surprisingly) doesn't seem to have the extra gear a lot of us thought he would have that an NFL team would be looking for. Don't know if he's hurt or something, because his explosion and usage doesn't match projections.

I know....just that the thought of McGlinchey coming back got me thinking 2017. I thought I'd give it a shot. Our O should be very productive but our record will only be as good as our D will take us.

I think he's similar to Corey Robinson. I think Tori enjoys football and is good at it, but it's definitely not the end-all-be-all for him. I could see him trying baseball, or simply moving on with his degree. And like Robinson, he has had health issues that may influence his decision.

Big Mike could very well be the #1 OT on draft boards which usually heralds a top 10-15 pick. The only tackle who could go before him is Cam Robinson from bama...but Mike has better measurables and should test better off athleticism that and Cam's off the field incident last summer may have him drop a little like Tunsil did. If Mike passes that up to return it definitely gets the title of Notre Dame man in my book plus would be a two time captain. As far as Kizer I think he leaves because right now his competition at QB is Kaaya and Watson next year it's probably gonna be Rosen and Browning. The latter project to be more "NFL type" QBs

when he was at the opening/army bowl practice prior to the leg incident people seemed to rave about his extra gear and explosiveness...yeah, haven't seen it ever...i also question his consistency in effort as he rarely seems to get any seperation

Part of that is due to the fact that teams were focusing in on him early, and that made EQ and CJ easier targets. There really isn't any need to force it to the guy who is covered most heavily when you have this kind of depth.

Teams are going to have a nasty decision to make now that they know what EQ can do. Can you really leave him in one-on-one coverage?

But have you seen his run after catch this year? Looks like Cole Luke... semi-stuck in the mud. Contrasted with ESB and CJ who run away from people... from people who watch practice I'm surprised that ESB is playing faster than Hunter.

don't worry, if longo sticks around ESB will be slower than all of them when he's a senior

Just saw this, was coming to post it myself, reps. As the father of an autistic kid, this hit me good. I'm an even bigger fan of Big Mike now, what a great brother!

still would love to see BK/HH move Mike back to RT and let every other OL on the roster compete for the LT spot. Just don't think Mike can excel on that side.

not a first rounder in any recent mocks ive seen

because he stated previously he was coming back many stated they didn't put him in their mock drafts...but either way...he was ANYTHING from a first round pick and this is a terrible oline draft...so that's saying something...2-3 penalities a game is going to get you cut real quick

just don't see it...but would be happy for him if it works out that way for him (great 2017 season shoots him up draft boards)

A lot of people bad mouthed McGlinchey during and after the '16 season. I always re watch every game at least once and focus more on certain position groups. In my opinion, McGlinchey is a damned good LT. He was a little off and uncomfortable making the R-L switch and had problems with false starts but if you take a long hard look at him he dominates often. Another off season and year at ND playing LT under HH will only make him better, especially mentally, and will probably add 10-20 lbs. I bet he's the #1 OL off the board in '18.

If he entered the draft this year he'd likely be picked late 1st round- early 2nd then plugged in at RT somewhere and groom to be the next LT but by taking another year to work on his trade, he will likely be drafted in the top half of the first rd and play LT right away. Remember, NFL scouts and Gm's love ND/HH OL.

I was a Math major. 59 < 99. Kidding aside, it's clear the switch was challenging for him so hopefully he can be much more effective in year 2.

Anyone think he will switch back?
