I saw on Instagram a post of him jumping out of a pool (Filer-Style) a month or two ago!

Right. This is what confuses me.

It can't be that we convinced him to take a medical because he was never going to play in BVG's system, can it?

I hate that the thought even crossed my mind; I'm getting cynical.

Injuries happen but to be honest nothing against Mike and Mike but both would probally have never seen the field in a great role. In a good way it frees up two more scholarships we can offer kids for this class.

I think it was some type of elbow surgery and if you saw him on the sidelines or spring game last year he was always wearing a huge arm brace

True, there had to be something wrong with his elbow, just based on that enormous arm brace he wore. I never knew it was potentially career-ending though.

Where did BK confirm?

Via twitter, through Michael Bertsch, ND's director of football media relations.

Per someone that knows him, he lost the fire for football. I don't know about his injuries or lack thereof, but supposedly he just didn't have the love anymore. 3rd hand info so TIFWIW.

Even at 50, you can learn something new everyday. White dudes play in the MEAC. Get outta here.

Michael had been playing for the infamous minor league team the Savannah Bananas this spring but he's headed back to midwest for summer ball

A two-time teammate of Maxwell, first in Puerto Rico and then with the Bananas, Michael Deeb has signed on to play for the Joliet Slammers in the Frontier League. “Vitamin Deeb” dazzled with his glove in left field and was the Bananas most dependable bat when it came to Showdowns. The former Notre Dame linebacker and White Sox Minor Leaguer went 2-3 in Showdowns and scored his team-high 3rd Showdown point when he was knocked in by Joshua Keating in the 4th and final game of the Spring Series.
