Please note...I have NO sources and never will have on anyone...

I appreciate TT and GITF's take on this.

MA is someone I would really love to get and understand the we very easily may not, but...he has kept his entire recruitment so far so close to the vest and people have been surprised by him popping up here and there this summer...so, when someone comes out and says that MA is leaning this way or that, I have a hard time believing them. The recruits in the past that have been enigmas during their recruiting have been similar...people have inklings, but it mainly gets based on the visits that person has taken or something leaks out right before they choose. My bet is that this one gets decided after his season is over and after he sees what has gone on with his teams of interest...both in record and how they showed in the play of their cornerbacks (ability to start soon, ability to "coach up"/develop players, is the program on the rise). Provided our young guns back there show improvement and we do pretty well on the whole as a team, I have to believe we will be in his final short list at worst

If I were a young man that could play championship caliber defense, and had some level of interest in Notre Dame, I would watch two things. Above how well they do this year, I would watch how good of job the coaches do turning a rag-tag lot of converted position, and three star players into BCS caliber cornerbacks. If they did a passable job, starting with zero experience, I would wonder what kind of beast they could make me. I would also be interested in seeing what kind of defensive schemes they were using, and how adaptive they were at changing schemes based upon player development.

Like Terry said, 5 days on an unofficial visit on his own dime! Not to mention talks to the best recruiter in the nation IMO, Tony Alford multiple times a week! At the very least we should be in this one till the end!

If we want to start playing with the big boys these are the type of kids we need to get. Wouldn't surprise me if he visited for the Michigan game.

Like many have said nobody knows where this kid is going. Its just hard to think that a kid from Immokalee, FL would skip all those schools in the south and go to ND.

This is a pretty stupid post. ND gets kids every year who are from Florida and have SEC offers.

If you look at his apparent top four, one of those schools is not like the others, and it's in fourth place, and it's Notre Dame. And he's not considering Vandy or UF, either.
We're certainly not out of it, and we should keep pushing for sure, but I wouldn't hold my breath on landing him.

IMO it has absolutely no bearing on what MacKensie Alexander does. Some kids will steer themselves to familiar paths, some kids are more adventurous. Coach Alford made a case for Notre Dame, his coming for a 5 day visit means that he on some level is interested in something different, he was willing to look outside the box, whether he comes or not will ultimately say everything about what MacKensie Alexander ultimately decides is best for him, and very little about what kids from Immokalee historically do. That would be like saying no kid in Palatka wants to differentiate themselves from their peers or no kid in Immokalee has imagined that their life is different. $0.02.

Apparently you did not read any post on the prior page, the post were not directed at MA. It was in regards to comments between ALLGATOR, Jmunsirish, and GITF. I'm not saying MA is not going to take his talents to ND just that most kids from Immokalee HS are not usually heading to a school for academics. Immokalee HS is rated a 3 out of 10 as far as High Schools go and are not known for their talents in the classroom but rather their talents on the field. All things point to MA being the exception to the rule and I hope he is, he is my #1 most wanted recruit.

I was not very clear with my initial comment. While most of the recruiting guys don't see MA going to ND it does not mean ND is out of it because all they are doing is making an educated guess based mostly on history and culture since very few people can get him on the phone. As his recruitment continues to drag out maybe up until NSD they will continue to pick teams in the south as his leaders.

Now this part is pure speculation. I have a hard time believing MA is going to chose a school based on education. It has been said that MA brother is going to have a real hard time qualifying. Seems unusual that one brother is not going to qualify while the other would be searching for the college with the best education. I think MA will pick the school where he is most comfortable.

So long as we continue being in regular contact and can get him to come up for an OV I will feel okay about our chances with MA... not great, but decent

He will take 2 unofficials out of State and his 5 officials.

Some schools that he has not seen but wants to visit are Clemson, Nebraska, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Boise State.

Will visit the 3 major Florida schools for games this fall.


Great quote by him when asked if VH3 committing to Florida would keep him from going to Florida

"With all this, I don't care who commits to who. I'm the best cornerback in the country, period -- hands down. There's nobody I'm afraid of or anything. Nobody can commit somewhere and say, 'Oh, he's there so I can't go there.' That's not the case at all.

Yes really! Not sure when he is gonna decide will probably take a few officials first but we will def get one and we are in the drivers seat with the best cb in the nation in my opinion
