The more I read the letter, the uglier I feel for Devin. He's making the smart decision, but it's probably not the just one. I would make the same decision in his shoes, but it sucks that Knepper is going to walk away from this with a slap on the wrist again after multiple issues on his record. He should be writing a letter of apology to Devin, not the other way around.

I know someone who knows Butler pretty well and saw him throughout his years here at ND. Second hand info so TIFWIW.

Butler came to ND as a REALLY good kid, head on straight, humble, etc. Stayed that way until he met his girlfriend, and slowly he changed. By the end of his time at ND he just wasn’t the same kid. In many cases, change is a good thing and should be expected especially during the college years. But in Butler’s case, she was a bad influence and the change wasn’t good. I still think, from what I’ve heard, the cop was a POS, but Butler was no angel, unfortunately.

Hopefully this move will get him away from that girl and get his head back on straight.

Is he a student still? I thought he was already gone, and that usually means it's fair game. But that's fine. Had some really good S&C stuff but it involves a current player so I'll shelve it until he graduates.

And while I did make many posts in my heyday, I'd like to think I never made posts about someones character. Gregs discussion (RIP) was merely about things I observed that made me convinced he wouldn't return that year.

And if I did make such comments, which isn't out of the question, I think this place would be better without that discussion, which is merely the point I was trying to make.

From what I understand, they knew each other from back in DC but started dating after he came here. I do agree that he has changed since they started dating. She moved here to "keep an eye on him" which is never a good thing. Wonder if she will follow him to wherever he transfers.
