I read something on ISD that he may have graduated in 3 years. Does anyone know if that is true?

To me, it's Max and it's not even close. Ishaq wasn't utilized correctly, and then when he would've had the chance to possibly prove himself as a true DE as an upperclassmen there was the #FrozenFive.

Max was given ample opportunity from the moment he showed up on campus and just continually self-destructed. That's more disappointing to me because he should have been such a bigger impact player.
Yep.

I'm not a frequent poster. But when I have posted, I'm always of the belief that these are just college kids. We have the little Admiral and Steve Elmer who choose to take the ND education/life experience as a priority over football. I've said we can't fault them for that, we promote the 40 year decision.

Then there is Max. Last year when he was more focused on Chinese than football, I said "Let's cut him some slack, he's making the 40 year decision. Education can be a primary focus. Football at ND can be secondary." It turns out he must have been more focused on getting stoned (hindsight). And then he was sent home from the bowl game, I said, "College kids make mistakes. He will learn and grow."

My bad. Sh**. It seems the kid is just floating through life making bad decisions and with no commitment. I hope that he can stay at ND and finish his education. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

A wise man once told me that when someone shows you who he really is, believe him. Well, I believe Max now - what a waste of opportunity.

I think he is by far the biggest hands down 5 star bust at ND.

I saw that two and I doubt it. I would love to know for sure. I think it was in a thread with some current students posting. I was going to go back after that post had a chance to percolate.

Children go to college and Adults graduate.
Even if I agreed, which I don't, there's no magic switch that's triggered when someone graduates. Over and over again we hear poor decision making excused with "well they're just college kids," and that excuse gets old. If they're going to be adults when they graduate, then they should be somewhere along a progression towards adulthood while they're in school. The infantilization of college campuses is a major problem in this country. I'm sick of hearing about "college kids" when it should really be "college young men and college young women."

I actually think we are more in agreement than not. There is no magic that when you turn 18 that you are an adult. It's a number. I know this, I was a dumb F*** in college and didn't become an adult until later in life. Now that I'm 30 years beyond that, its a little more clear.

I'm all for accountability. When my 16 yo daughter drove with her friends to the beach 5 1/2 months after getting her license (you have to wait 6 months in VT for non relatives to be the sole passengers), I drove her to the police station and made her report her violation (she had lied to her parents about it - hence the tough love). Her license was suspended for 3 months. Life is full of hard lessons.

Anyway, kids and young adults WILL do dumb things. I don't say to hold them without consequences, but just hope they actually learn from the consequences. And I still do dumb ass stuff. But I more fully understand the downside.

this whole episode aint gonna look good on Max's job application to the CIA right?

Plot twist: Max has already been recruited by the CIA. Washing out of NDFB is part of an elaborate ruse to make way for Rax Medfield, new diplomatic attache at the US Embassy in Shanghai.

Old story, sorry Whiskey. He has already been working on his new cover with a Southie accent, being verbally abused by Mark Walberg.

Brother I hear you on this but man a loaded unregistered handgun? That is some really, really stupid stuff. What is max, some kind of hard man now? Really? There is no reason he should be carrying a gun, much less an unregistered LOADED gun in college.

If you are going to areas where you feel that you may need a gun, well that is your own bad judgment. As a senior ND player with all the benefits that entails, you should not ever need to be in those areas unless you actively CHOOSE to be in which you probably get what you have coming.

Max lead by very, very bad example. When you think ND football, you dont think thugs and lowlifes.

Absolutely. Don't pass go.

This is a different level of stupidity than lack of judgement. It might even be felon stupidity. He is out of football at ND and probably for his life. He might be out of school if it is a felon (if he hasn't been thrown out already). I just think it's a shame when a world class opportunity is just thrown away.

Thank you.

This isn't a "mistake" like most kids make. This is unforgivable (from a team and university POV) and just utter stupidity.

He's lucky he's in Indiana....This charge is a felony in other places

Ishaq. Worst effort i ever seen in my life. He just hated contact and did not wanted to play.

He averaged 0,57 solo tackles per game in his career, it has to be an all time low record.

Max is bad but at least he went after the ball carrier.

Just my own opinion, but Max is a good looking kid usually smiling. Given that plus he was an outstanding HS athlete, I wonder how many passes he's gotten over the years? Maybe never anything super serious, but enough mischief that probably more than once, he's been lectured and then told not to do it anymore. He finally reached the end of the line where BK is man enough to tell him he's done getting free passes.

I wonder if Max Redfield the player would have been better off as a WR than as a safety.

Max Redfield vs Virginia (2015) | Draft Breakdown

1:30 - Bad tackling
2:17 - Actually this was a good play, he was in the right place but showed poor ball skills.
2:28 - He ate the play action badly
2:38 - Shows tremendous speed, but look how late he reacts. Jaylon's awaraness was impressive in this play, but he was easily blocked
3:25 - Poor leverage and off balance going to tackle (almost every attempted tackle is like this)
3:42 - He was the single high safety in C1 and Mizell was alone
3:57 - No words

I think this game defines him very well.

Power hour said that his fall camp was not impressive and how the last practice he was actually kicked out of a drill and did not return. This sucks due to depth at S but we will be better off as long as Studstill stays healthy

I heard up and down things about his camp, but yes. Even before he was kicked out of the last practice, Studstill was running with the 1st team.

Yep. I think this whole situation will come down to our true freshman Safeties and how quickly they pick things up.
