Want this kid. I honestly don't think we will get D Robinson. Larue seems really interested to.

Teams to watch are USC and Oregon. Both could be close to offering and either one would be tough to beat. If they don't (and we ever do) we should be right in the mix with Texas A&M, Washington, UCLA, and Oklahoma.

Most teams like him at RB but he will play corner this coming year and could get looks there as well.

“@TheOpening2012: S/O and congrats to Santa Monica (Calif.) WR Sebastian LaRue (@SebastianLarue1), who was invited to the 2012 #THEOPENING today”

For some reason I really want him.

Would fit in Alford's group well.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - LaRue leaving beach behind for Challenge

Dallas Jackson
Football Analyst

June 4,

...

He is also committed to playing in the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge from June 22-24 in Atlanta

...

"I am an elite prospect and as good as anyone else," LaRue said. "I was still a little surprised to get invited to go to that camp, but now that I am going I have to be focused. That is the approach I think you have to take.

"It is an honor that I have that kind of respect to be invited, but they want to see me play."

The inaugural event will be split into camp instruction with one-on-one drills and a 7-on-7 tournament with four teams determined by the region of the country.

LaRue is excited to be a part of the invitation-only

...

Farrell likes him in the slot and as a deep threat.

Sebastian Larue – Sunday potential « SoCal Recruit Spot

May 11, 2012 by socalrecruitspot

Here's an article with a 6 minute video of both Offensive and Defensive Highlights with Commentary.

A
little over a minute into one of the many Sebastian Larue highlight reels it becomes crystal clear the young man’s going to generate some controversy at the next level. Larue, a Rivals ’13 4-star and #141 overall prospect, is a gifted 5’11 Wide Receiver. After looking thru multiple highlight compilations I’ve yet to find an example of Larue getting caught from behind by a defender, and he’s left many the would-be tackler grasping at air after a quick cutback move.

...

The controversy? There’s not a D1 Defensive Coordinator in the country who won’t fight tooth and nail to pry Larue from the clutches of his Offensive counterpart.

'Electric' California WR Sebastian Larue a prime target for Michigan | The Detroit News | detroitnews.com

'Electric' California WR Sebastian Larue a prime target for Michigan

Sam Webb, GoBlueWolverine.com
April 19, 2012

This aricle's by a UM writer. It has local slant.

...

Said Larue: "From what scouts tell me, I'm a very explosive player and I feel like I'm very electric once I get the ball in my hands. Pretty much I can score from anywhere on the field. I'm kind of like DeSean Jackson a little, as far as in the return game and being a threat to score from pretty much anywhere I'm lined up."

That comparison is probably exciting to all the coaches giving chase, but particularly to his primary Michigan recruiter, Dan Ferrigno. The second-year Wolverine assistant was Jackson's position coach at California during the All American's final two years as a Golden Bear. While that distinction is certainly a feather in Michigan's cap, an even bigger one is Larue's prior familiarity with the Maize and Blue.

"I have family that's from Flint and they come out here to visit, and they tell me about Michigan and everything," Larue explained. "They've been to games before and so I know a little bit about the history. I know about their tradition, and that's one thing I really like. It shows a school has history, and it's a history of winning — a history of producing great talent such as Charles Woodson, Braylon Edwards and Denard Robinson. I like how their new coach is kind of bringing back the old tradition of the numbers and everything with No. 1, and he's bringing the tradition with No. 2 and No. 21. I like those things about a program, how you can earn those type things."

why aren't we offering speed?

??? Jaylon, Kinlaw, Green, etc, etc. The offer list shows we do.

A lot of those offered have other preferences. It's the 4 month of a12 month cycle. And this is still ND. How many 4.4 Jrs are on track for there required 16 core courses including precalculous and 2 years of a foreign language (you may recall foreign language correspondence courses don't cut it with ND Admissions)?

Dear IrishSpartan, I see you were a former Lacrosse player at MSU. Meet IrishLax.

Don't know about LaRue's grades, but I have no clue what else could be keeping him from an offer. He reminds me of Davonte.

I can message you his name to keep it more private but
he was a walk-on linebacker from don bosco in the late 70's who had offers from multiple schools but went to notre dame due to academics and but tore all the ligaments in his knee so he had to stop after his junior year

Agreed, though maybe not on the same level, Neal was a 5-star talent, LaRue doesnt scream 5 star status, but a solid 4 star is still fine with me.

According to one service, Davonte was rated the same as Larue in everything else. That doesn't matter, both are ridiculous atheletes and are going to be studs wherever they go. And hopefully if this is a academic problem larue can fix it and become Irish.

Man, we have all of these offers out to players who aren't considering ND, and this kid is here asking Zaire to talk to the coaches for him! Academics should be the only reason because LaRue seems like Kelly's RKG.
