I don't know much about the kid even though I am 45 minutes from him. I will be attending a few blue ridge games this fall and will try and get some video.

Pinetop has a high population of LDS faith, so I am surprised that there is no offer from BYU or Utah. Maybe he is not of that persuasion.

I will try and keep the updates coming this fall, should be plenty of local coverage.

FWIW, I doubt ASU has much of a "home-town favorite" factor going for it here.

Chans lives about 4 hours northeast of Tempe. Pinetop is mountainous and very rural. Lots of pine trees, ranchers, and a completely different culture from the Phoenix metro-area.

True enough. But as one of the local hics, the big city and all them devil hotties has a lot going for it. Blue Ridge historically sends kids to Tucson, but maybe dickrod is still looking for a qb??

I don't know how any recruit could choose ASU over SC. It offers everything ASU does, only better. Much better in some aspects.

Might be a Davonte Neal-like situation where he's keeping a hometown favorite in the mix to ward off criticism from homers.

Hes been on record saying he is feeling pressure to commit to ASU.

Pressure from whom? The coaching staff? Chans is a long way from Tempe in a community of 12-15k. The majority of which would most likely want to see him at BYU. I would say SC and Nebraska are the early favorites.
