The latest Longo workout is a bit different than the one Harrell got after signing day.

“The one up until June is supposed to help you get bigger and add bulk,” said Harrell. “It’s almost like a super-set almost so it’s a high-weight set with low reps and then low-weight with high reps. I do approve. Olympic lifts do not transfer biomechanically. The power shrug is the closet Olympic style lift that can transfer because of the explosion through the triple extension. the type of training they are doing now allows for maximum strength and then muscular endurance. It seems like they will be able to get their training done faster and spend more time practicing sport/position specific skill. I find it very strange for a strength coach to move back to HIT training after being an advocate of the power lifting. There are always new trends out there on how to train, but two proven principles have remained continuous throughout lift to recruit and maximize muscle recruitment and fiber strength and the practicing skill to improve skill.

Agree. This year isn't shot by any means, but any future losses aren't nearly as cataclysmic as today's in the grand scheme of things for the season. Northwestern should be an open tryout for a bunch of guys.

Malik really hasn't gotten good garbage time snaps this season, and he's only a snap away from seeing the field. We've got to get our defensive red-zone issues corrected and clean up our turnovers so we can start working more backups in for good experience.
