Rod Marinelli is one helluva D line coach, so if he's interested, that bodes well for Romeo.

I'd love to see the Boys use a late pick on Romeo. We have two young DE's that will allow him some time to mature behind them and do so at a cheap price. If Lawrence continues to get better, which I think he will, we'll either have to pay him or maybe Romeo could turn into something.

NFL Events: Combine Player Profiles - Romeo Okwara

BOTTOM LINE
Big edge player who looks great on the hoof, but who is extremely stiff and mechanical in his movements. Okwara is missing the quickness to be an NFL pass rusher while being a block magnet in the running game. Unless he finds a way to unleash his natural power and have it translate to production on the field, making a roster will be exceptionally difficult.

If he gets his pad level down and gets better at using his long arms to shed blocks and keep tackles off him, he will make the team, if not, he will hang up his cleats. A little surprised he didn't get picked. Had a decent year.

He will make the practice squad. Mark it down.

Would love both for him and my Giants if he blossoms in NY.

Okwara was absolutely harassing Christian Hackenburg of the Jets this evening. He looks like a keeper for the Giants.

Just think of how good Romeo could have been if we got him at age 18, redshirtted him once, and played 4 years...

Shivers.

Wish they hadn't used him in 2012. He would have been awesome to have this year.

Yep. Might have been a difference maker on D at this point.

Funny how a 3 star actually became a good football player. After reading 247 recently, I didn't think that was possible.

Giants sign Ishaq to practice squad. Pretty good accomplishment since he didn't play football last season.
