Picked up by the Lions after they cut Zettel. Will play DE and not LB like the Giants tried to have him do for whatever dumb reason.

3 sacks over the last two weeks, including a strip sack on Aaron Rodgers today. Couldn't let Julian outshine him.

Solid payday for a UDFA. He really came on his last season at ND and probably should’ve had another year of development before going into the league. I’m glad he didn’t get lost in the shuffle that is NFL roster management.

if only we could have had him for 1 or 2 more years. goodness he would have been a monster. i don't think he's close to peaking in the NFL.

Was worried he went to the league too soon, too young and not developed enough. Glad that he's really found his stride though and he's just dominating this year! Here's hoping Julian has a similar trajectory.

If he played for a year like he did the second half of his last year he could have ended up a day 2 pick but glad he's turned it on.

I’ve often thought that if Romeo had a 5th year, he’d probably be good enough to win some of those close games. And, improve that atrocious defense that was fielded in 16’.

He was 13.5 TFL’s and 9 sacks as a Senior. That’s better than his bro’s best season.

Instead we got him chasing down kickoffs as a freshman, lol. That was a dumb one.

Romeo getting paid. For a guy that was an afterthought in the star studded 2012 class. It looks like he'll be the 2nd highest paid of the bunch. Stanley is solidly in the #1 spot.

Good for him. Hoping he wasn't a one year wonder type of year.

I had a little hope he might end up with Indy.

Romeo Okwara might eclipse his 10-sack mark from 2020

Okwara continues to look like a stud as a pass rusher. Last year, he predominantly did it by himself. This year, he has the benefit of interior defenders who can create plenty of disruption on their own. So either Okwara will get the majority of attention, freeing up players on the inside, or Okwara will get one-on-one matchups and win. Either way, don’t be surprised to see him hit double-digit sacks again this year.

Looks like Romeo and his brother are about the only Irish guys left on that Detroit squad now. Monday they let go of Jalen Elliot, Tommy Kraemer, Alize Mack, Javon McKinley, and Brock Wright.
