Just visited Ole Miss, and set up a visit to Bama today. Goes without saying, but need to get him up to campus to have a shot.

Was I wrong in thinking we had a very realistic shot here?

I wouldn't go as far as to say we are out of the bubble here but its a long shot. Hopefully he can get on campus. Im sure he would rather be paid to play. Plus WHEN we have an amazing season this year and have a solid recruiting class building, he will give us a look. BK won't let us lose so easy.

His adoptive parents are very religious and quality people, I would expect them not to make the decision for him, but at least have him consider the academic schools, of which ND adds the religious angle as well.

Kids a stud, no doubt about it. We start winning games, maybe get to a BCS bowl and have a good recruing class set and when signing day gets close, our chances improve a lot. Need to get him on campus soon though!

This guy is on his own schedule...this one is going to take awhile, which is usually the case for the best player in the country.

This kid is an absolute stud and perhaps the best receiver to come out of high school in years. This has been the one kid that I have wanted in this class since the first time I heard about him. This kid has seen so much adversity in life and has a wonderful adoptive family that stepped in to give this fine young man a second chance in life. I hope when it is all said and done we end up getting this kid, because he is truly a special kid and to think of what a degree from Notre Dame would do for him for life after football is something that would surely set him up for a nice successful future. I'm sure BK and staff will do everything in their power to get this kid.

I think that if we win a bunch of games and Michael Floyd has an All-American season, then we have a really compelling argument for DGB. We can clearly point out, "DGB. we are going to plug you in the place of Floyd".

We could definently use that to our advantage. This kid is legit and is one that could probably start right away.

I haven't read any direct quotes from this kid. Speculation is he is a Sooner lean. Until DGB is directly quoted, it's all Bleacher Report BS.

i agree...oklahoma is going to be some big competition and i wouldn't count out the home state tigers either at this point, especially with his current sad situation with his younger brother.

Oh boy! Go get him Tony.

I think DGB is going to wait til close to NSD. Prolly not gonna Henderson/Clowney it...he doesn't seem that obnoxious.

We've got as good a shot as anyone as long as we start racking up the wins this season.

very good choice by the staff to send alford on the case I agree...his background with Lynch and his noted sell for seeming like a father to Lynch might help sway DGB with his unfortunate family concerns.

Hisbrother is going to be in treatment in Memphis or St. Louis, slips my mind. I think it was St.Louis. Theyhave a reallygood treatment center. Anyway, the only school that would be close to home for him would be MIZZOU. OU and ND are roughly 7 hours or so away. I do think this will count out the Floridas, USC and all other schools that aren't just a boring ride away.

Of course, that just what I think..

From St. Louis, yes. OU is about 5 hours from Springfield and 10 hours from ND.

I would probably be more excited about DGB coming to South Bend than any other player since I've started paying attention to recruiting.
