I had the same thought earlier today. Kelly's staff are clearly tremendous recruiters, but we've gotten some seriously sh!t luck this cycle. Imagine if just a couple of those things had gone our way, or if Armond had been cleared...

We'd be talking about an historically good class. The only sour note about this cycle is how close it came to being truly epic.



I would do unspeakable things to know.

Darby, Decker, Armond, Arik,,,, and if we would have won the Mich, USC, and FSU games, likely more. This class is still awesome, but could have been a #1 had the ball took a few different bounces.

And 1000x on the Cooks thing. I might even vote for democrat.

Sorry to turn this back to me, but after some of that i felt i did need to say something....

Like i said earlier i thought Arik/Armond were Golden Domers 110%. From multiple people that do have as they say "inside" info or "sources" that it was a done deal. There was 1 thing that could have kept ND out of it and i think you guys are smart enough to figure wha happened there. Its not Kelly dropping the ball or ND failing to make an exception.

My post that everyone is "holding onto" did not have a thing to do with the Armsteads. I am not retracting that statement either.

I do not claim to be an "insider" and my information doesnt come from a paysite. I have shared knowledge on things with many on this board privately that I have never posted in threads so I am not looking for attention...

We created the TP as a page where the team can interact with all of ND Nation as well as provide some tidbits through the facebook page that just let you get to know the players. I mean for those who saw Greenberry talking the other night on the facebook chat, Riddikkulous was about to have an orgasm. Its just a way to make the "fans" day by having a player simply respond to them on a wall post or status..as well as to show that the players are more than players.

If i wanted to be that "insider" i would post names of recruits and swoop in to take credit on every commitment. Clearly that has never happened. If what I have been told doesnt take place on Wednesday you can rip me all you want and ill be the first to explain what happened. But im sure that you guys will all be very happy along with myself that night.

I like this board more than some others, but at the sametime some of you do need to chill out a little bit lol. Its recuiting. Things are always going to be Great as well as Horrible. Suck it up, it happens EVERY year lol. Cheer up fellas!! We are getting a hell of a class in a few days that will be better than it is at this moment.

I, too, appreciate TP, and all the other insiders. But for us outsiders, let's remember that nothing is official until its official, and rumors are just that, no matter how well-sourced. Kids change their minds. Stuff falls through. Witness the Armstead situation. And Gunner Kiel.

On that note, would be great if we reeled in a couple more studs. Doesn't look good for Darby at this point, but who knows. Personally I'll hope for a pleasant Signing Day surprise, but can't be surprised if it doesn't show up. This is a pretty good class either way.

I love TP's insight and posts. His words create so much excitement that it is half the fun of coming to this thread. Rumors are makes the forum go around during this time in my opinion. Spring training is when we talk about all the OFFICIAL COMMITS, but RUMORS are the here and now.

Plus, with Kelly turning people down saying the scholarships are "full" gives TP's statement some weight. Many people are saying that we are "saving" the scholarships for 2013, but saying they are "full" is not a very good term to use if that is the case.... My opinion though.

TP, ignore the haters, until you are proven wrong or something, I love the guessing game. Some people are just pessimists.

TP I've been lurking here long enough to know who to listen to, and when you have something to post I listen.

For me it's enough to know that theres something good coming. Kinda like seeing a new big present under the tree at Christmas. You don't know what it is but the excitement of knowing there's a really cool surprise coming is what makes it all great. Not like my wife that is a peeker. You have to hide everything from her and it's exhausting trying to keep it a secret. Thanks for the info.

TP thanks for all your post. I for one appreciate the morsel, and can wait to see what happens. I would never want to jeopardize your source, offending the kid, or ruin the fun of NSD. Further, I don't understand the desire to "rip" someone if they come and report something in good faith whether it comes true or not. Nobody KNOWS the future, half the time the kids don't KNOW. If someone reports a rumor or something they heard we are all better for knowing and hoping rather than hearing nothing at all. I don't know many D-1 football prospects and wouldn't know or even want to be their confidante. In my opinion this is the time of year for honest speculation and when someone knows more than that- even better. In short no explanation needed amigo, appreciate the post.

Yeah, kinda pisses it doesn't look like he's going to get a visit either. I don't really understand Darby "going dark" and think we had a legitimate shot to get back in this weeks ago if, say, we got him on the phone with Lynch/Prestwood. If I was Kelly, I'd show up at his house and hope for the best. Worst thing that happens is he says "I don't want to see you."

PS. Does anyone else think it's weird that Clemson and Auburn are his other top schools? Neither of those schools have great track programs or great recruiting classes right now... it doesn't seem to fit. The only thing Clemson, Auburn, and FSU have in common is that they are down south and have been linked repeatedly to recruiting shenanigans. No, I am not suggesting shenanigans are involved in the least here... it's just weird to me that he went from pumping the 40 year decision and all of that to considering the schools he's considering now. Florida State I can understand because of their star power recruiting class and track program; but Auburn and Clemson are miffing to me.

I really don't think we should discuss it here because I don't think that's what's going on at all (just the only two common traits between the 3 schools I can come up with) and don't want to sully Darby's thread. I'll PM you.

At this point it is not likely Bk visits darby today. However if he did we would have a decent shot.

No, I don't think he is. He was in IL last night watching Laquon Treadwell play basketball so highly unlikely.
